Could someone please tell me the value of a 7.5 karat oval cut tanzanite stone that is deep blue in color???

I must be seeing things these days.... haven''t you posted another question, including the description of the ring???

Oh well, sorry if this is a mistake.

In the meantime, to the best of my knowledge, such a stone may cost $500-$800/ct. You never know what a truly exceptional stone may cost in a very exceptional store... But for very good quality as found in high-end jewelry, this is what I would expect.

If the setting is valuable and desirable, the ring may be worth allot more than the stone. An appraiser could help wit that, I would think.

If the color is vivid or intense and not too dark the wholesale price should be about $4000. Retail is anybody’s guess (could be $6k to $8k).

Hey John, what are you doing slumming in the colored stones section?

You could get a rep. This is the red light district, you know.

with a description of the ring you were probably seeing an unsolicited advertisement or an attempt to sell, which as you know, is not ever encouraged or allowed here.

HEY!! I am self-proclaimed cool!

Thank you for responding to my question. Yesterday was the very first time I posted, so I''m not really sure as to protocol on here. If I just post a description of the tanzanite ring, am I allowed to ask the value of it???

Go ahead please, it can be easily done without "sale" comment.
Good luck.

Thank you for replying to my question!

I do have a tazanite/diamond ring set in 18 karat white gold. The tanzanite is 7.10 carats, oval shaped with a deep violet blue color, type I-VS. There are many small diamonds round cut with maybe a dozen bagguettes totaling 2.85 carats with a color F-G, type VS2-SI1 surrounding the tanzanite. The ring itself has a heavy feel to it. Could anyone give me a ballpark figure as to how much this ring is worth???

Thanks a bunch,
Leigh

John, Storm is cool every other Wednesday for about 20 minutes.

Hang around and you might catch it.

Now the girls, that's a different matter entirely. They're hot every day of the week.

Leigh, do you have any photos of the ring you can post?

I don''t do online guessing because I don''t feel it is fair to either vendors or consumers, but some of the regulars are pretty good at it.

Hi Richard...

Will try to get some pics made, then I''ll have to figure out how to post them on here. I''m still a "newbie". 8-)
