Tanzanite and the City

1.31ct Tanzanite from Tan. 9.6 x 5.6 x 4mm

It's beautiful! Now I see all the fuss about Tanzanite. This little gem ranges between a violet and a purple depending on the angle. The upclose pictures are a bit darker than it really is. First picture is spot on for saturation and tone. If I could get the silly thing in the tweezers with it popping out, the darkness in the middle disappears and all the color dances around. It has a hot neon glow to it that the camera just didn't capture.

I don't think your pictures are ugly! I have a hard time photographing my tanzanite.

I think it's very pretty! I can't wait to see more pictures!

Please please do not hold it in any metal of any kind. You may scratch the stone. I really like pears, that's very nice.

I love the violet and the blue showing at the same time. It gives it that sensuous depth.

Thanks all for the compliments. It's my first Tanzanite, while they aren't my colors, I can see why the world is going gaga for it. I wish it looked yours Crasru

There's an electric quality I can't get over or seem to capture in it.
