I came to PriceScope to learn about pearls, and my eyes were opened to the wonders of Takahashi and Andrew Moline. All well and good, the pieces I bought are classics that I love deeply and can see wearing for the rest of my life.
But.
So I had never heard of Buccellati, and now I am frighteningly interested. I do not have the budget of a Rockefeller or a Kardashian, and yet I am thrashing in my head: if I lost weight and could wear clothes now in storage, and didn't buy new clothes for a few years, could I afford a bracelet? How about if I sold some stuff? (I did inherit some of my mom's jewelry, but I promised the only easily saleable piece, a good quality diamond, to my daughter, since my mother collected them specifically to leave one to each daughter - I'm not a diamond solitaire girl, but my daughter loves diamonds). The rest is not easily saleable, as not signed or designer and secondhand jewelry is hard to sell. Sadly, the price of gold is only high when they're selling it to you, not buying it from you.
Anyway, I wanted to ask about the experiences of those who own, or have seen and handled, Buccellati. I am going to New York this fall and may nerve myself to stop in the boutique, but I am shy about going into a place if I don't intend to buy that day. Is your Buccellati as fabulous as it looks? Do you love it as much in practice as when you bought it?
Many thanks in advance --
