2.02 carats, light orangy red, oR*3/5, 8.1 x 5.9 x 5.1, Mahenge

This would be for a bezel pendant.

It looks sleepy.

(hey I'm trying?? )

I like sleepy.

Sleepy = glowy

Glowy in that lavendar way that the mahenge's sometimes have. Yum!! :lickout:

Sorry, I can't help you, I thinks it's gorgeous. 8)

i love it, get that and share the vendor with us... i want one like it too!

You know I am the wrong one to ask if you want to be talked out of it :twirl:

o.k., I'll give it a try. :wavey: It says the color is light. Won't you want medium? :twirl:

Uppy, I'm sorry to say, It's beautiful.

Bwahahaha no dice lady! :appl:

I think that glowy lavender shimmer color would look so pretty on your neck. T'would be sexy! Rowr!

I could be wrong but I think maybe TL had that one and returned it. I forget but here's her thread:

If it is the same one, I loved it! Actually considered it myself earlier this year but was afraid that it might be too sleepy after I scrutinized the photos and bought a different one.

You already have one.
If you get another is should be because it is spectacular, not just acceptable.

Yes, I did return it. It was too sleepy for me, and not saturated enough. I bought two Mahenge spinels from MC.com that I returned. I found better ones from Tan, and for less money per carat. After I returned that one, I bought another Mahenge from a lapidary, and it went back. Not saturated at all. If I hadn't bought one from Tan, I would probably never know what a decent Mahenge looks like.

That's not to say that MC.com doesn't have good Mahenges, but with my experience with them, and three returns later, as well as stones I was disappointed in, but were not worth the shipping fees to return back, I truly believe you get what you pay for with MC.com. JMO. If a gem has a low price per carat, there's probably a reason. I've heard that from someone else too.

So far, I returned a mint garnet and two Mahenges to MC.com. I kept a very ugly cheap spinel, and a hideous mali garnet (too brown, but wasn't brown in the photo). The only thing I ever bought from them that I liked was a sphalerite.

Honestly, Uppy, the one you have from Tan that you just had set in the beautiful Erica setting makes that MC.com stone look sick.

You have a problem. Its called "Mahengitis" and it is guaranteed to seriously harm your wallet.

Freke,
I think we all have gemitis.

I think this is a case of Spinel Bifida

Do you need a spinel tap for your Mahengitis?

(FWIW, I don't like the stone. It's sleepy and appears slightly windowed. Plus, you have better ones already.)

Love the color, love the glow, cut looks wonky.

I also need to quote TL's post. Between the two of you, you've talked me out of it. The price was good for the size and what I'm seeing in the picture. I LOVE the glowy look of some of the stone, but compared to the one I've got on my finger at the moment, I know I'd always be comparing.

Better to spend the money on setting the neon chryso that won't be compared to this gorgeousness from JbEG. I love you ladies with all of my <3!

Not sure of the price point which could be the deciding factor. Don’t buy just because; get it only if you can’t live without it (and if it looks better than what you have currently).
