I finally settled down to two vendors and will be talking with them in what I want, WF''s ACA and GOG. Thanks to those that helped me in a previous post.
As I was doing some research, I found James Allen''s prices to be quite competive in terms of size and pricing. Of course they carry mainly GIA, and I may be comparing apples to orages (comparing them with ACA diamonds or GOG).
I entered in some of my criteria such as 1.0 -1.30 carat, "ideal" cut, color F-I, Clarity VS1-SI1, with VG to Excellent polish and symmetry, $7K to $8K.
I think these diamonds are a bit cheaper because there''s no other supporting docs, reports, etc. And maybe the symmetry and polish are only VG and not all are excellent, and they are not AGS 0.
I listed a few below with HCA scores. The "newbie" in me got excited because it seems for the price, you would be getting a larger stone. Bigger is not really better I know, but just want to get some thoughts.
Just curious as to whether it''s worth it to get a bigger stone but probably lower quality in some areas and the bad thing I don''t like about JA is that there''s no other information available other that a GIA cert.
1.29 Carat, H, SI1, GIA, D 61.2% T 56% 7.02 * 7.04 * 4.30 Crown 35.0 Pav 40.6 HCA .8 TIC $7560 (Item 1026320)
1.18 Carat, G, VS2, GIA, D 61.9% T 56% 6.73 * 6.77 * 4.18 Crown 34.5 Pav 40.8 HCA 1.3 $7660 (Item 1073085)
1.20 Carat, F, SI1, GIA, D 60.3% T 54% 6.92 * 6.97 * 4.19 Crown 31.0 Pav 41.2 HCA 1.3 $7330 (Item 1088743)
