Maybe it’s too much time on my hands but I’m rather keen on this.
I want to get my car “wrapped”. That’s a vinyl film that applied like cling wrap over your cars paintwork, changing the colour. This one is a 3M wrap that changes colour in the sunshine,
The minute I saw this I thought, oooohhhhh soooo pretty.

Too crazy?

Nah.
Cop magnet.
Might work for my dad, whose idea of speeding is doing the speed limit as opposed to his usual eight under :lol:

ive seen cars done simular
they look amazing
go for it !

Sorry @Bron357, whenever I’ve seen cars like that, it‘s made me think pimp or drug dealer :lol:

Pfft, you only live once.
It'll be even better if you wrap something staid, like a Honda or Toyota sedan.
It's funny.

I think it's called ol looking but could it be too distracting to other drivers? I remember a case where a gernan? Driver was told to repaint his car bc the paint job was considered a threat somehow to other drivers? I can't seem to find it

Wrapping costs a lot less than a custom paint job, so it is worth investigating.

I had new car's roof and wing mirrors wrapped back in 2017, and it definitely cost less than a paint job. It cost about the same as the paint job on my old car, again, roof and wing mirrors, back in 2002!

The good thing is that, when it is time to sell, I can just take the wrap off and they will revert back to the factory original colour.

DK :))

Erm looks nondurable, especially in the blazing hot aussie summer. I am not sure I'd want to risk it, or even the possibility of it emitting fumes as it got hotter.

Lol, my fil recently reprimanded me because I was driving spot on the speed limit (and in certain areas way under)

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Before the days of car wraps, something like this was available as actual paint. It was called "Chrome Illusion" and was very, very expensive.

From what one of my neighbors told me because I considered it for parts of my car, that wrap is durable for about 3-4 years, different wraps can cost you,a full car can start at 1800 for the good stuff but you have to baby the car a little.....would be fine out in the sun.

I currently use 3M window film for my car because I don't have a garage. I'm thankful for that stuff every day. No bubbles no nothing, keeps my interior a lot cooler, and keeps UV out of my car. I can go pretty dark here in FL but I kept it lighter side. For my little car it was 800 US dollars. (I have a VW GTI)

I want to say, you do you! But also, be aware that is draws attention and depending on your surroundings, not the safe kind...

Paris Hilton has this. 'Nuf said.

It's 100% bogan but agreed it does look pretty! :lol:

HI:

So it's a protective layer against rock chips, etc? That is good. We've always "3M" our cars hoods, fenders, mirrors, in the clear option.

Second bonus is that no one will ever steal your car.

cheers--Sharon

I have nail polish similar to this. ILNP Mega. They have other crazy colors too.
Might be fun way to explore color on a small scale without involving your whole car :geek2:

I say, if you like it get it.

It looks better if your car is lowered and on massive wheels :D lol

It will certainly draw attention - and it will be even funnier when people draw alongside at the lights expecting some 20-something in a baseball cap, only to see a lady of a certain age driving it! :lol:

It ranges here from things like vinyl stickers they call wraps that are not expensive;

To full professional car wrapping that costs thousands;

My husband worked for a company that had a couple of cars done in company logo wraps and they cost over $4000AUD per car to have it done professionally and properly. I think in our Aussie heat it lasts up to 4 years.

I think the sheer trouble of potentially being pulled over and having thugs interested in your car is just not worth the trouble!

there is a place here in Wanganui that does it - it looks awsome on the car i see around town advertising it
