Hey all. I am new here and looking for some advice on an engagement ring. Here is what I found:

1.23 carat, E-color, Ex/Ex/Ex, VS2

Stone is round brilliant and has a very small indented natural on the very edge, and a cloud slightly offset to the left of the table.

I can get this stone under my $9000 budget.

Are the imperfections likely to be an issue on the VS stone?

Looks good. Any chance of getting an IS image for this stone?

EDT:
Any reason for going for a colorless grade? Most people will not be able to detect a difference between these and G/H color stone, just some suggestion.

I was able to get such a great deal on this one, that I just figured I might bite ...

So, is that cloud disconcerting at all?

should not be, if it is, it will not be a VS1.

you really need a picture. try to get one. if it''s truly a vs stone then you shouldn''t see it w/ the naked eye. why is this such a good deal? did you get an explanation? was it certified?

Stone is GIA certified, I have a copy of the cert ...

Where did that IS image come from and what does it tell me/you?

I''ve never seen one of these, but comparing it to what they call ideal, it looks pretty solid to me ...

Can one/some of the experts please comment on that IS image?

Going back and examining it in a paintship program, it's clear that the diamond is tilted in the image. Does that make the I-Scope worthless, or can you still get plenty of info from it?

Looks like there is some leakage in the middle on the top part, maybe because its tilted. I am sure others will chime in.

Its a good image, there appears to be some lighter areas at the top of the diamond, if it is leakage it may not be detectable to the human eye, good proportions, worth keeping on the short list in my opinion.

Here is the image with some superimposed lines on it. Note that the black lines and green lines are equivalent in length. Obviously tilted, so does that mean you really can''t get a real conclusion from this?

No, the image is fine to detect light leakage which is the 'enemy' of diamond performance and beauty. The image could be slightly tilted however this is par for the course and happens sometimes, much is dependant on the skill of the operator etc when taking these images.
