I am just curious to know - are Tacori bands and settings one set price or do retailers sell them at various prices? Thanks!!! (I don''t want to drive myself crazy shopping around for a "better price" if there is a set price . . .)
I have no direct experience with Tacori so take this for what it's worth
. But as far as I know there is no "maximum pricing" in effect for most brands, so it's always worthwhile to check a couple of places, just for sanity. Also, even if a setting has minimum pricing in effect, the center stone usually doesn't, and the level of service that dealers provide may be different...someone may offer tradeups for instance. And if the mounting is sold at suggested retail, maybe that leaves some additional room to negotiate on other things.
I also have found that there are some minimum prices out there -- but some places will charge more.
I went to see a Tacori yesterday. B&M store wanted $3835 for the e-ring semi mount. On-line at solomon brothers it was listed for $3545 and no sales tax.
I also read on the nice ice site that Tacori does charge a little different based on the size of the diamond to be set. 1c is less than 1.5c. So I don't know if that is apples to apples comparison.
But - they were different quotes...
