I bought a Tacori band for my fiance and it needs to be sized down 1 1/4 sizes. The jewelry store that i bought it from was hesitant to size it down that far, and now say it will be no problem. I just want to make sure this isn''t going to cause any problems with the ring making it unsymmetrical or just make it look bad. Please help...Thanks

The Tacori number is: 2628RDSP

I would make sure it is sent back to Tacori for sizing.

Have the retailer send the ring to Tacori for sizing, it is the only way to maintain the validity of the lifetime warranty for workmanship and materials.

Unfortunately my fiance left the ring with the Tacori retailer and they sized it. I haven''t seen the ring and likely wont see it till this weekend.

Todd, are you sure this is the only way the lifetime warranty is still valid, if Tacori does the work themselves? I am really disappointed with this retailer, for selling me a ring that needed to be sized in the first place, they told me it would be no problem till we brought it in to get sized.

Thanks for the help.

I''m not Todd but he''s a tacori retailer and would know their policy''s pretty well. Most, if not all designers have the same policy regarding outside work on a ring voiding a warranty.

i hope the jeweler did a good job sizing it for your fiancee.

Unfortunately the store screwed the ring up pretty bad. I''m going to have to demand a new setting. When my fiance looked at the ring from the side she could see a bend in the band. The inside of the ring now reads "TACO" instead of "TACORI". I don''t understand why they would even attempt to size this ring if it would cause the warranty to be void. Now they ruined the ring, so the only option in my opinion is to have a new setting ordered in her size. Thanks for the help! Hopefully all goes well when I talk to the store in about 15 minutes.

gosh, I''m sorry but not surprised. One reason I will always recommend the designer doing any work on a ring. I hope they will agree to getting her a new setting made in her size, which is what should have been done to begin with. please let us know how it turns out.

I talked to the store, and they agreed to have one ordered in her size. We will be able to keep this messed up ring until the new one comes in. When I originally bought the ring I didn''t know any better and they told me it would be no problem to size it when we needed. I didn''t know these bands need to be custom made and I guess the sales person didn''t know either, which is a shame. I''m really glad that we were able to resolve the problem. mrssalvo are you in the Chicago area?

that is terrific news that they agreed to have it remade, yay for your jeweler!!

no, I''m not in the Chicago area but love to visit. my hubby grew up just north of the city.

Sorry for the delay Mad Duck, I''ve been distracted for the past two days tweaking some PHP for a new site that I''m working on and have been "off forum".

In my experience, working on a Tacori ring voids the warranty with exception of setting the center stone - although they truly prefer to do that as well. On the same note, I have found Tacori to be an exceptional company to work with and feel that they might restore the ring to the correct size and restore the Tacori stamp inside of the ring if the jeweler refused to order a new ring for you - as you have indicated that they are doing for you, which is the right thing to do, so cool! It''s all good.
