Hi all! I''m new here, but I am concerned about my e-ring which should be here anyday now.

My fiance got me the Tacori RoseBud with diamonds halfway around. It''s beautiful and I can''t wait to for it to arrive so that I can wear it! My concern is about the sizing. He ordered me a 4.75 which fits great when I am "normal" but fits slightly tight if I get too hot or swollen. I was speaking with the jeweler that he ordered the ring from and the jeweler said that rather than change the order (this was right after it was ordered) he would just polish the inside of the Tacori and make it a 4 7/8 to a 5. My concern was if the polishing technique will remove the Tacori stamps, which I believe voids their warranty. Does anyone have any ideas? Is this typically what would be done to change a ring a fraction of a size, as is my case?

Also, I read somewhere that the actual difference in .25 size wise is about the thickness of 2 sheets of paper. Is this true?

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you guys!

I can only comment that I know shaving down the inside of rings has been done to make them slightly larger (i.e. Mara''s eternity ring/rings? were shaved on the inside a bit to make them a tad larger).

As for 1/4 of a size, I only know that a 5.5 was too big on my finger, a 5 way too small, and a 5.25 perfect. So for me, the 1/4 made all the difference!

I suggest you try to wear it first for a day or two. My rings are perfect to snug on warm humid days and spin around like all hell on cooler drier days. I am not going to mess with mine. Id rather they be tight than spin

Hi! Welcome to PS!
I have a Tacori rosebud set but its an eternity band and i had it made a thicker width than the normal rosebud. The original ring I ordered was 1/2 size too small. Since it was an eternity band it could not be sized in the regular way and I had to get the inside filed up 1/2 size to make it larger. That I was told was the max you could upsize a ring by filing the inside. Im super anal so it bugged me that my rings were "tampered" with but Mara is not anal about her rings and she didnt mind that her rings were shaved to make them larger because they fit her better. The Tacori stamp remained intact, maybe not as "deep" into the metal but it was still there. If I looked at it under 40x mag the milgrain detailing on the inner circle was altered and to my naked eye i could tell the milgrain was affected but to the naked eye of a non anal observer (like my fiance) he couldnt tell. They said it was just a fraction of metal removed, so could be close to a sheet of paper or two, but I am not sure. When I had questions when I was going through it, an expert here told me that many rings have enough metal to shave some down without damaging the integrity of the rings.

My jeweler suggested that any work I had done on my ring be done by tacori, whether it was filing the inside or normal sizing if I would have chosen a half or 3/4 eternity band. I can't recall if its because he felt more comfortable having someone who knows the ins and outs of complicated tacori designs do the work, or if it has something to do with the warranty. I know that he set my original stone and that work did not void the warranty, but sizing may. I cant recall, so you definitely want to email Tacori or have your jeweler double check.

My suggestion would be this. As ame said, once you get the rings wear them for a while. If the 4.75 fits great mostly and just "slightly" tight when you are hot or swollen and is not cutting off your circulation that may be a good size for you. Did you order the matching band too? The rings tend to fit tighter together (as mine did) so take that into consideration when you are determining the size. I normally wear a 5.25 in thinner rings but thicker rings more like 5.75. When I had my Tacori rings a 5.75, that size fit well most of the time, snug in the heat, but together both rings at a 5.75, they were very tight and not comfortable. My rings are each now a size 6 and individually slightly loose "normal", snug "swollen" and together they are just right if not a tad snug all around.

Also, since you got the diamonds only halfway you have much more leeway in terms of sizing than I did. My only recourse was to shave the inside. You may be able to have them sized the regular way and then you wont have to thin out the metal on the inside. Wait until you get the rings and see how they are in the heat, air conditioning, etc.

good luck!

Hi --

I have the tacori rosebud - eternity and the wedding band. Since your's will be only halfway - I suspect you'll have an easier time sizing than an eternity with this detail.

That being said. I usually wear a 5.25 ring. I ordered a 5+ in their sizing.

When I first got my e-ring (in a different setting - I noticed that the ring "spun" constantly with the stone on the bottom of my finger while I typed, worked - did anything. Quite annoying.

The tacori set - fit MUCH better

With the w-band and e-ring together - which causes the ring to be a little more snug - this annoyance has gone away for good.

My rings fit me a bit tigher when I'm hot - but most of the time I'm in airconditioning - and even in the summer I haven't had a need to remove them because they were uncomfortable. Occasionaly it's a little more difficult removing them - but nothing that gets stuck.

I'd wear them for a while before you decide to size. You may find that a little snug isnt' such a bad idea.

Just my .02..

Thanks guys - that helps tons!

As far as the e-ring and wedding band fitting tighter together... can I get a larger size wedding band to compensate, or is this not a good idea due to spinning?

I think the 4.75 will be fine, if I could just get the darn thing back! It was ordered July 6, so I''m still being patient. By next week I may give the jeweler a call to see if he''s heard anything from Tacori. I''m being impatient - but it''s just because I''d love to wear the beautiful ring.

Thanks for all of your help.

The waiting can be torture!

My ring came on time based on my jewelers estimates. About 3 weeks.

Some people get different size rings. I wear my wedding band closer in on my finger - and the e-ring on the oustide. So the area closer in is actually smaller than where my e-ring is.. if that makes sense.

Your rings will probably be fine. Don''t worry until you have a reason to!

I have the Tacori Rosebud, exact one you purchased. I purchased diamonds 3/4 around on both ering and band that matches. It was hard getting right size, fits totally different with the two together.
Make sure you take that into consideration when you size it.
Also, since you got it half way around, you can just have it sized normal way.
However, i would definitely have Tacori do it, because you might lose the engraving, plus
it''s just better to have them do it since it''s a designer ring.
My rings fit perfect, both e-ring and w-ring are same exact sizes.
When they fit together, they do not spin, are not too tight, alittle tighter in hotter weather
and looser in colder weather, but that is normal. Also, make sure you wait 2 weeks or so
after wearing it to make sure the it really needs to be sized, it may not need it at all,
and remember when you add the w-band, it will fit alittle tighter and snug.
