Hello all. I have been reading, as most do, all of the posts for about 2 months now. I love the forum and think that this is a great way to communicate. That said let me give some background. I am looking to purchase a tacori setting. I know alot of you think that the prices are high but after looking at a ton of settings this is what I like. I am willing to spend 4-5k but would like to get the best deal possible. I have looked at plenty of internet jewelers but am having a hard time finding any with a selection of tacori. I recently went to a B&M that has an excellent reputation but was way over priced. They had the setting that I like but wanted over 5k for it. It has a total of .95 ct 2 emerald cuts on the side and princes and rounds in the band half way around. I want to mount, and am shopping for, a 1.2-1.4 ct radiant
F-G
VVS1-VS2
VG-Ideal cut

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I''m sure I will have many more questions as I actually begin the buying process. Thanks in advance for your reply.

i know www.billbarnes.com has a good amount of tacori settings, but i'm not sure how overpriced they are. I really like their selection, so you may want to give it a look!

We carry Tacori and would be happy to provide you with a quote if you let us know the style you are considering / what collection it is from. Tacori sets the minimum selling price of their goods, but we adhere to the lowest price option as opposed to the mid-level or higher options.

If you're comparing prices and using BillBarnes.com as a base point as recommended by CFF be aware that the price they list on their web site is not always for what you "think" is being advertised... We've run into pricing issues with them before when we're quoting on something like a platinum ring in a size six and the customer is looking at the price advertised on BB which is for a white gold version of the ring in a size 3.5 so be "sure" that you are comparing the exact same thing when bouncing between the various Tacori vendors to avoid confusion and subsequent disappointment. Nothing against BB, we just don't agree with the method they seem to be employing to snare customers.

Thanks for the help so far. BB does have the setting that I have been looking at. I believe that I got an accurate quote but could be wrong. Their price was a good 1500 less than B&M. I can not believe the prices that the B&M quoted me on the loose diamonds. They showed me several radiants and tried to push another branded cut called Cushette(?) which I didn't like. It was too rounded. Anyway they had a 1.04 ct E SI1 less than ideal cut for $8000 and a 1.4 ct G SI1 ideal cut for $12000. Oh yeah and this was after they discounted them, originally the 1.4 was 20k. I understand that they have overhead but I thought that was a bit much. I am thankful that I was able to find this site. The collection of knowledge here is tremendous.

I don't know if everyone gets this feeling when they are shopping for a diamond but when I am finished and finally have the ring that I want to give, I think I am going to have a HUGE sense of satisfaction. I digress. Thanks again for all of the help thus far.
