OK so for months I have been searching companies in my spare time to get an idea of what I like. I love the antique look of Tacori and some Ritani mounts. I stopped in my local BB&B yesterday evening before the debate to look at Tacori in person since I havent done that before. I liked the look of model 2633. My GF has a ring size of about 4 3/4 so a large ring I dont think will look great. If anyone has that size ring in any tacori setting, let me see :)

Does anyone have a picture of Tacori 2633? I cant find it. I would like some opinions on this mount. I couldnt find it on any of the vendors on here, but if it is I will need to get a price on it.

I want to buy the stone also so can someone assist me here? I am very nervous buying as much as that sounds odd. I read of what I should be looking for, but trusting what you read and not seeing in person is something I have to overcome. I have come to the conclusion that I can get myself a better deal by searching stones myself and choosing a vendor and mounting here that can send the stone to the manufacturer to make and set. The stone that was in the ring at the store was a 3/4 ct... and for some reason that just seamed small or it got lost in the ring. I dont want to buy an expensive ring and a garbage stone. I am thinking I will most likely try and get the Tacori ring in WG and use that money toward making the stone better.

Mark at Engagement Rings Direct can help you with both. I believe Good Old Gold also still carries Tacori. Both vendors can help you get a top notch (=top cut) stone for your money and will be very fair with the setting prices too. And they are very helpful in selecting stones. Just give them a call!

Hi Marley,

I think www.goodoldgold.com sell Tacori, so Jon might be able to help you and order in the setting if it isn''t in stock. As to the diamond, GOG sell beautifully cut stones also, as do many of the other vendors.

Do you have an idea of how much you want to spend on the centre stone and what size you want? If you could let us know and what your priorities are for colour and clarity etc, then we might be able to find some diamonds to show you.

I found that ring on Tacori''s web site and have grabbed the two images for you. Unfortunately Tacori''s site doesn''t allow me to link directly to that ring''s page, but if you go to http://www.tacori.com/ on the bottom you can search by style number. The description says it ranges from $2400 to $6470 depending on number of diamonds, metal and any modifications to the design; and of course doesn''t include the center stone. You can also search for authorized dealers by zip code, if you need another local vendor.

Thats the ring!! Thanks! I didnt see the search box on their site. Anyone have oppinions on the look of that ring?

I love it! I am such a big Tacori fan, their designs are so beautiful.

Gorgeous! I love Tacori. Someday I will be able to afford one!

If you do a search for my Tacori...I am lazy

...it is a size 4.5

Thanks for the feedback all.... I have sorta a noob question I think but you all will probably know. So I have been pricing this setting... I went to my local Bailey Banks and Biddle and got a price of $4040 in PLAT for this setting. Not sure what the WG price will be but I suspect is about $1000 cheaper. I got a quote from Marie over at GOG yesterday and got $4890 for PLAT and $3140 for WG. Does this seem right? I have never seen BBB come in cheaper. Do you all know any other people that sell Tacori so I can check pricing? I was going to email NICEICE and check them also.

On a sidenote, what if I find a stone from a different place than the setting... how do I get the stone to the vendor to send to Tacori? and how am I sure that they wont switch the stone?

Sorry for all the questions

I love the Tacori''s too but I wasn''t able to put that much into my setting. Maybe one day.

Check with your vendor on how exactly they'd want you to handle this. I bought my stone from Abazias and my setting (a Danhov design) from JamesAllen. JA had me send my stone directly to Danhov to be set, which I did via US Registered Mail, Insured. I also included the GIA report with the stone.

As far as knowing they won't switch the stone? You have to have trust in your vendor and be sure to pick a reputable one etc. If you're really worried about it, you could always send the diamond to an independent appraiser before it is set to validate what it is and then again after the ring is complete to make sure it's the same stone. Some may want to have this done even if they completely trust the vendor for insurance reasons or whatever.
