Greetings all,

First of all, thanks for all the great dialog and helpful information.

I had a question regarding a Tacori setting and hopefully someone can verify what I''m being told by a dealer and Tacori respectively, as I seem to be getting conflicting information.

I recently ordered this setting (HT251012X) and sent my center stone’s measurements to the dealer. They said would order the ring so it would fit my center stone perfectly. A few hours later, they called me back and said the ring was actually already in stock. Now I’m confused/concerned.

I verified that the picture on Tacori''s site of this ring is shown with a 1.5ct center stone. My stone is 2.07ct.

When I questioned them on the fact that the "in stock" ring was for a 1.5ct, I was told that the setting Tacori would create for my 2.07ct would be exactly the same as the 1.5ct. On the flip side, when I asked Tacori the same question they replied, "If you choose a larger center stone size, the setting will be modified to proportionally match your center stone, so it will not be unbalanced."

Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks!

normally designer rings are made slightly wider to accomodate a larger stone. the setting will look exactly the same, the shank might be 2.5mm instead of 2mm for example. also, the heads are made to fit stones with certain dimentions, so depending on the specs of your stone, your 2 carat might still be able to fit into the head that was made for a 1.5 carat. If you are really worried, I''ll tell your dealer you''d feel more comfortable having your stone sent to tacori for them to set and for them to make a new setting.

I actually recommend having the jeweler send the stones to the designers to set anyway. we''ve seen several pricescopers designer rings get messed up with the local jewelers set them.

Thanks for your help!
