I am getting an "upgrade" for my anniversary and am thinking about a Tacori round halo 2520 or 2628. I am not sure about size though-- thinking somewhere between 1.5 and 2.0. Would anyone be willing to give some advice or post a picture of your ring?

Thanks so much!!

Do you mean what size stone (not size of halo)? I am assuming that the tacori settings are already set with their dimensions? Do you have a budget for your stone and are you set on a certain clarity or color? Also, it might be good to ask finger sizes when comparing other rings and their sizes. I think a 1.5-2.0 carat would both look lovely. I posted my ring if you look under my topics and its not tacori but the stone is 2.2 and halo is 1.3mm on size 4.75 finger.

Hi loufitz!!

I wanted to give a "disclaimer" of sorts about Tacori settings (or any settings, for that matter) since it would suck to be disappointed... :(sad

Make sure you see a "case sample" of the Tacori halo setting you choose with the size (the diameter) stone you will have. Tacori makes everything to scale, so a ring with a 2 ct stone will look a lot different than a 1.5 ct in the same style setting... (i.e. every aspect regarding the size of the setting will change, based on the diameter of the stone).

I had my heart set on the Tacori 2525rd, but it was always set with a 1.5 ct (7.4 mm) for display - and it was GORGEOUS! (see below)

<oooohhhhhh.... aaaahhhhhh - pause for reflection> HA!

I thought that my 2 carat (8.1 mm) would look awesome with that delicate halo, but when I requested to see the same setting with a 2ct stone, it totally changed the aesthetics of the ring... it was big, thick, NOT delicate... just BAD. The slightest difference in diameter made a HUGE difference in the whole look of the ring.

As long as you see a sample set with the approximate size of your stone, all is well! :D
**Please don't think I'm discouraging you from this AT ALL -- I wanted you to be prepared for some "changes" if your stone is a different diameter than that which is displayed.

Good luck in your search!!

Just like what msop04 had said, Tacori does make everything to scale.

So if you seen a set in store with a 1 ct. center stone, but your diamond is 1.5-2 ct., it will scale up the prong and halo diamond. BUT the solution is not to get the pre-set they made. Request for CUSTOMIZE to the scale you like.

Here was my experience:
My husband and I ordered a 2.51 ct. square radiant cut diamond (D/VVS2). I had my heart on Tacori's petite crescent Style # HT254725CU85 http://www.tacori.com/engagement/ht254725cu85.html. When I saw it in the store, the center stone was less than 2 ct., and my jeweler warned me that it will change the prong and halo to look slightly larger. I like how delicate the band and halo looked when I saw in store, so I did NOT like the made to scale. So my jeweler communicated with Tacori's designer, and decided used the style I like and custom-made a set for me (with the 2mm prong I originally fell in love with). It is slightly more cost than the pre-set one, BUT its all worth it. I am still waiting for my ring, I know it will turn out beautifully.

Hope this helped. :twirl: Good luck.

Hi yoyosaidfeia! :wavey: Thanks for letting me know about that - of the SIX Tacori vendors I visited, I was NEVER given that option (which really p**ses me off)!! :angryfire: That setting was (and really still is) one of my absolute favorites. I can't believe they never even thought to ask, especially since two of them physically called Tacori several times for me trying to locate the sample. Not to mention that when it came in, I had an extremely visceral reaction to the proportions and said, "...if only they could just make the halo the same width as shown in the stock ring!!" <--- is this not me asking them if it can be done?!! Well, they missed a sale and commission. ::)

At least it saved me and my DH at least $6000 (since I was quoted $10,100-10,600 for the setting -- and this "savings" allowed me to upgrade my diamond!!)...

Oh well... such is life. I love my setting, so I guess it all worked out. :) :)

I'm glad you were given the option - can't wait to see your ring!! I know it will be stunning! :appl:

Sorry to threadjack, OP!! :halo:
