I''m a newbie over here. I''ve been on other diamond forums for a year or 2. I''ve read about a shallower stone with a larger table looking larger face up. How can you calculate how big a stone would look and does it make sense to get a stone like this? Would you lose a lot of light return with a stone like this or what negative effects would there be? In case you need to know, we''re looking for a radiant cut, maybe a little less than 1 carat. TIA

have a look here hopefully that will help.

thanks for replying. I have a new issue now with pavillion angles/percentages. I used a website to evaluate a diamond and it came up as a 1A or 1B overall but when I used the Halloway Cut Advisor it come up as the pavillion percentages were too deep and the stones should not be purchased.

ETA: LOL I see that the HCA is for round stones so it doesn't apply.
