awww. you look so lovely .. and SOOOOOOOOOOO happy!! I love how you are both smiling and laughing in those pics. That is how I hope to be on my wedding day. (I''m not really optimistic though, since I can be a tad of a bridezilla..lol..) Anyway.. congratulations! Show us more pics soon!
rube, you both just look like you've had a BLAST. good job (and you look adorable in your dress btw)!
i hope i'll enjoy my wedding day as much as you did... and what a beautiful ceremony site! thanks for sharing and posting pictures so quickly. i enjoy looking at all these photographs soooo much.
Well, I don''t know if I have any more photos that are interesting just yet, but I can tell you all more about the actual wedding weekend!
Thursday, one of my HUSBAND''S(!) friends came back to Kansas City, and my mom and step father flew in. I was too tired to utter much more than ''Hello.''
Friday I was (thankfully!) off work, had breakfast with then FI, mom and step-father, then went to the airport to pick up one of my highschool friends who came to town early to help out. Luckily, there wasn''t much to help out with though, so we went to the mall, had our nails done, and ate at Pretzel Time. Yum! At this point I was not so concerned about eating too much salt and blowing up like a balloon. There was pleanty of room in my dress to eat anything and everything- which I did.
That evening I went out to dinner with my dad and some relatives I hardly knew (until now) and met up with more family and friends trickling in.
Saturday comes around, and the REST of my family and friends arrive (this is my husband''s "growing up place" and most of his friends and family live here). By lunch I am so tired I can hardly believe it. Everyone was so wound up! I admit I loved it, but it''s way more social interaction than either of us is used to. FI escaped to his mother''s house.
That evening we hosted a dinner in our studio (working studio- art- not living space) and almost ALL the wedding guests showed up. So, about 30 people made new friends. And, everyone got along REALLY well.
After the dinner, I went back to the hotel where my friends were staying to play Euchre. So much fun! But I really had to go home and sleep. Sunday was our 10am wedding FAR away from home.
Great pictures! Is that the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs? It sure looks like it. My fiance and I were just down there a couple of weekends ago and thought it was gorgeous. Congrats!
Thank you all for your wonderful comments! I will add some more pictures when they come my way.
AmantdeChat- The chapel is actually by the same architect at the one in Eureka Springs, but this one is at Powell Gardens in Kansas City. It was (is) so beautiful!
I think I have some more photos on my computer of the chapel...
Oooh, congratulations Mrs. Rube!!! You look so happy in your photos--you are absolutely glowing!! Your church looks beautiful too. Sounds like everything went perfectly!! Yay!!!
and those cakes are awesome! are you the one who had the special cakes made bc your DH studies mayan history or something like that? I forget.... hehe.
You look so beautiful and so happy!!! I am very glad everything went well for you too!!! LOVE the cake and your chapel is just amazing! Everything looks like it was a fantastic time and you werent stressed out! YEA!!!! Congratulations... cant wait to see and hear more!
Thank you again EVERYONE! We had such a good day. It was funny, because all of our guests commented on how I couldn''t stop smiling.
I smile all the time anyway it seems, but I guess this weekend I was showing more gum than usual.
flopkins- both of us study Mayan history... in fact we just got back from our first dig in Belize a couple of weeks ago. Too fun, really! We even made it a point to go into Guatemala for a weekend to see Tikal again. The cakes were great to see completed! (A little history lesson: Temples 1 and 2 at Tikal were built by Jasaw Chan-K''awil... Temple 1 for himself, and Temple 2 for his wife.)
