Symmetry vs Polish

If you needed to eliminate some very similar diamonds which differ mostly on symmetry and polish, what would be the more desirable criteria - symmetry or polish? Obviously I''m trying to narrow down some stones here.

polish is usually less important.
 
I thought so too, but I just read something in the tutorials on this website which said ''You may never notice any difference between diamonds with Ideal, Excellent Very Good or even some Good symmetry diamonds''. It also said polish is only important when buying flawless stones otherwise not to worry if buying VS to I.

That is good info highlighted above, what I would do is to evaluate each diamond as a whole and select from there with the critical angles etc rather than polish and symmetry to find the best lookers!
