Thank you diamondseeker and skippy :} I am a sucker for photography - lol - My dad actually was the one who got me started - he would take me on a trip every bday - my bday is a holiday here - and when we would go, he would call it my trip and if I wanted to stop anywhere all I had to do was say the word...and well - needless to say - have lots of pics to prove it - lol

Yes they do mate for life.
When we there the next time it was I think 2 years later, one of them had a broken leg.
Likely from a stupid kid throwing rocks.
The mate was taking it food and standing guard in the middle of the pond.
They were taken inside for the winter and as far as I know survived ok.
Used paint to re-size it so the quality is blecky.

edit: their names are pride and joy. and are at times joined by another pair.
