Whose advice do you like and/or follow? Why do you like that particular person''s advice? They essentially say the same thing, but I wonder why some stick with one person over another.

I''m going to admit to being a complete nerd but I love watching Suze Orman''s show. It follows the exact same format every week, which I find a little annoying, but I like her advice.

I favor Suze for purely arbitrary reasons we are not allowed to discuss on PS.

I''m a Dave Ramsey fan, but admittedly I''ve only listened to Suze Orman a few times. Dave''s values most closely align with mine.

Dave Ramsey! I actually started following his advice after reading about it here on PS. NEL, I think you were the one who mentioned it in fact. Thanks!

I''ve read/watched them both and while they have similar approaches, I prefer Dave. I think his plan is great. We''ve done it for a few years now and it totally changed my outlook on spending/saving. I like how he''s been through some struggles (filed for bankruptcy early on) and built his empire back up from scratch. I love that he practices what he preaches...his website does not take credit cards, it has to be a debit card or bank draft. I just really enjoy his books and the personal stories he shares. Suzy kind of gets on my nerves a bit, I think it''s her voice, but she makes a lot of sense and I do like her books.

I like Dave Ramsey''s Baby Steps and find them to be the most practical guide for personal finance goals. I like Suze Orman too, though.

I''ll have to check out Dave Ramsey''s books. I have a few of Suze Orman''s and I like them but I want to look at his stuff too.

Not a fan of either but if I had to pick, no question, Suze. I don''t like Dave Ramsey for many reasons.

I like Dave Ramsey`s approach but I have a few financial guru websites that I visit regularly and take from them what fits for our life :)

Zo--Have you checked out David Bach? He wrote the Smart Women/Couples Finish Rich books. He''s the first personal finance writer I started to read when I was younger, and I really like some of his ideas, as well. His "latte factor" concept completely changed the way I spend my pocket change. Seriously, I think it has saved me THOUSANDS of dollars over the years.

Hm, no, I haven''t checked out David Bach but I will. Thanks for the recommendation!

Dave Ramsey is good for those getting out of debt. But he doesn''t teach or maybe even know a whole lot about investing:

Thanks Abril! I''ll have to check out more of his books.
