Surprise sapphire under the diamond?

So I have finally decided to go with BGD version of the tiffany replica :appl:

I am thinking of getting a surprise blue sapphire set under the cutlet of the diamond.
Would this effect the colour of the diamond at all, or would you be able to see through the diamond and see a blue reflection?

The shank should be solid there, and not have a hole, so, no, it won't show through from the top. Not really a surprise anymore like that.

What do you mean by its not a surprise anymore like that, if it is positioned there is it called something different?
 
I just mean, if you can see it from the top, it's not a surprise stone anymore. ;))
