"Surprise" diamond w/ others right next to it?

ok, so I''m trying to think up the details of my custom ring design. I definitely want side melee that faces "front and back". But I also like some settings with a single "surprise diamond" facing front/back. Would it be weird to combine the two concepts and have several stones with the center one being maybe slightly larger or outlined in platinum?

Here''s a real bad sketch of what I''m talking about, hopefully it makes sense. If anyone knows of any settings that have a similar feature, plz post a link! thanks!

The Tiffany Legacy has a very similar profile, only with two more "surprise" diamonds where the pave ends: I think that would look lovely on a cathedral setting! Actually, of all things, it reminds me VERY much of a Juicy Couture engagement ring charm. It''s be cute to give one to your future wife as a present if you decided to go with this style!
