I received my latest diamond today; it was from SuperbCert and is outright stunning. The overall cut and sparkle was intensely overwhelming in comparison to what so many other princesses I have come across have to offer, including the first stone I ordered from another online vendor.

After my experiences these past months with several vendors, I can confidently say SuperbCert both meets and exceeds expectations – even for such an expensive purchase as diamonds. The price was also competitive and reasonable for such a superb(pun intended) stone without the and high premium markup you might suspect for such a well cut and branded stone. My independent appraiser had only positive things to say about the diamond. I know the appraiser is unbiased, as his critique of my original diamond (purchased elsewhere) was not quite as eloquent to say the least.

Barry and Judah are a terrific team and very honest. They are professional, courteous, and easy to work with - taking the time to carefully explain everything to you in detail. He follows up on email and voicemail very well which is great. I would definitely suggest giving them serious consideration for your next diamond acquisition. The time they spend with you throughout the whole process is both a pleasant and amazing experience. You are even more educated than when you started talking with them - feeling extremely comfortable with the large purchase since you know what you are really getting. Case and point, is that I had concerns about the girdle and they created a custom analysis and photo spread for me to address my question (click the “Additional Diamond Photos #2!!” on the URL below to see what I am referring to). I would suspect you would be hard pressed to get other vendors to go through this much work for you; especially those with ‘virtual inventory’ that don’t have ready access to the diamonds since they drop ship them and would need to obtain them on memo.

The overall diamond experience is stressful and hectic enough - thankfully this dynamic duo makes it a little more pleasant which is nice for such a sentimental purchase. In today’s busy world, it is so nice to be surprised with getting more than you expect.

Since I wouldn’t dare to try outdoing their pictures, you can see the pictures and BrillianceScope here. It is also another example of why you can’t rely solely on numbers. http://www.exceldiamonds.com/diamond/151.html

RGEOUS STONE!!! Do you already have a setting chosen??

Yes, it is a Tacori setting with channel set princess diamonds. I don''t have a picture yet as it is special order and won''t be finished for several more weeks.

tjwillia -

Do you know how often they update their website with the loose princess stones? Ive been looking for awhile but haven''t quite found anything in the size/price/quality range I''m looking for. Do you know if they have more stones in house that aren''t online? I could always just give them a call but we''re not quite ready to buy yet. I agree their stones are gorgeous! Your new stone is beautiful - enjoy it!

I am not sure whether they have any addiitonal inventory. I know Barry is the cutter (decades of experience!) and should certainly be able to tell you what the schedule looks like. You can reach him at (866) 829-8600. Why, what size/quality are you looking for? I don''t know about you, though I found it impossible to find and E/F color, VVS clarity, EX pol, EX sym princess stone anywhere that could provide IdealScope and GemEx BrillianceScope info.

Thanks for the info. I''m not sure of exactly what I''m looking for. I just want to get the biggest stone for our budget, and would be willing to compromise a bit on color and clarity to get a slightly larger stone. It seems the stones listed around 1.5 carats have either very high color or clarity, making them a bit out of my price range. So I''ve been checking back regularly for awhile now, to see if any new stones are put up. I guess I''ll give Barry a call when we''re ready to buy.

Thanks again! Can''t wait to see pictures of your stone in its new setting

Superbcert princesses have always been cut a bit differently than most of the princesses out there (tables in the 50s for example) and they do well on the BS. I am curious to see how they will score on AGS's new princess cut grading system. I am also curious as to whether or not SuperbCert will be submitting to AGS, what grade they are shooting for, and what Barry thinks about AGS relying so much "on the numbers".

We've been round and round on this but I forget, does Barry cut the superbcert stones or are they sourced?

According to everything I have read, including the nice pamphlet on SupeberbCerts that came with my diamond - Barry himself is definately the cutter. 4th generation in his family with 25+ years experience...

I have no doubt that Barry once was a cutter and that he is from a family of cutters.

However, if you look on their site, they do not say that they cut the diamonds themselves. You'd think they would be tooting their own horn a bit louder if they cut all the stones in house.

Hahahaha - this story is still going around, huh?

Barry doesn''t cut stones, guys.....like Rhino, he cherry picks them. Unless something has drastically changed in the last 2-3 years....and I don''t think it has.

i think Superbcert orders certain specs from the manufacture and then they brand it?
