I wanted to post this as I know a lot of PSers have Summer Infant monitors.

Info on safe installation due to strangulation by the monitor cords: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml11/11127.html (some more info here: http://www.summerinfant.com/Home/Product-Recall/All-Baby-Monitors.aspx)

Battery recall on certain models: http://www.summerinfant.com/Home/Product-Recall/Slim-SecureHandheldVideoMonitorBatteriesRecall.aspx
"An internal battery defect can cause the battery to overheat and rupture. This poses a potential property damage or burn hazard to consumers."

Edited to add more info.

Is it just a warning sticker?

For the first thing I posted, that does seem to be the case as well as an instruction manual on safe installation. Although the strangulation deaths are certainly going to be what gets the most press, the battery recall had me much more concerned as there were cases where the batteries actually ruptured.

Thanks for posting this. DS's monitor is far away from his crib (on shelf) and the battery issue seems to only apply to the handheld monitor which we don't have. However, this post made me recall that one of my girlfriends has her monitor (with cord) propped on baby's crib rail. I'm going to call her now.
