HI:

I think I mentioned this in another thread--at the risk of repeating myself
9.gif
: Essence from N. Rodrrgiez (sp), my florals from Jo Malone, Chanel Premiere, and Hanae Mori.

Lorelei: I love S. Luterns stuff--but the lasting power on me, is poor. Even the wonderful Tocca fragrance I sprayed on before I left Sephora, did not last much beyoid when I got home...

cheers--Sharon

Cind - This is a common one but D&G Light Blue is a great citusy light perfume. I had thought of buying a bottle but I spend a lot of time on the coast, and it tends to go out quickly there, which makes me sad.

You might enjoy the versace sig, I like it when I want to feel a little more bouncy

I haven''t tried as many fruity smells yet, I can''t do too too sweet, it overwhelms me a bit, but those are what came to mind for me.
I''ll see if I can find those two scents the next time I''m in a department store. I do wear Sunset Heat (can''t think who it''s by) and that is very citrusy but has absolutely no staying power.

I''ll be watching this thread as I am in the market for a new perfume. I tend to like fruity, foody scents whcih I know a lot of people don''t like. (like Hanae Mori for example) Anyone have anything that would fit the bill?
Have you tried Clinique Happy or Happy Heart? They are quite fruity and long lasting and readily available. What sort of fruity and foody notes do you like?
Lorelei, I have tried Happy but not Happy Heart. I think I would have to say I like vanilla a lot. (OK don''t all shun me-lol)

Topo - I am hoping that our Chanel Boutique in Orlando will have it but if not I''ll order it offline or ask for it to be ordered for Christmas.

I have to be honest, I haven''t smelled angel. Alien to me is rather mysterious, and is a more night time fragrance to me, a bit sweet, and a bit sexy to me. I''ll have to compare at Sephora this week and get back to you on the likenesses
I do love Angel and always keep a bottle by me, I don''t wear it that often as I have to be in the mood for it but when I am I really enjoy it, especially for the chocolate/ caramel notes. These tend to amplify on me nicely rather than the patchouli which I am not fond of.
I really like Angel and wear it in the winter since it seems "heavier" to me. It''s funny. There are people who absolutely detest Angel and say it makes them sick.

It''s Escada. I love their scents, they''re always so summery. I also love and wear Burberry Brit year round.

I''ve been really into almond scents also, but in soaps. I buy almond liquid soaps and I just found Korres (expensive Greek brand of skincare) shower gel at Marshalls for $4.00 for their bittery almond scent (sounds weird, but smells soooo good)

i usually wear body sprays (Bath & Body Works, Victoria''s Secret) during the summer since it''s lighter. every once in while i''ll wear either Ralph by Ralph Lauren or Moon Sparkle by Escada. i find that they''re both fresh and slightly fruity/floral smelling which i happen to like. another nice one is W by Banana Republic.

What fragrances are we currently wearing? Has anyone treated themselves to anything new and exciting recently? If so please spill!

I will start.

I have ordered some Serge Lutens Louve which will be here tomorrow - can''t wait! Might be an odd choice for summer ( if you can call it that in the UK) but I am really loving powdery almond/ cherry type perfumes at the moment so I couldn''t resist as I felt I deserved a wee treat!

This has been purchased unsniffed so fingers crossed I like it....

Cind I adore vanilla, really love it in fact!!

Have you tried Chanel Allure? This one has a lot of vanilla.

Lorelei- I notice you are in the UK too (I''m in Manchester). Where did you order it from? I have only seen SL fragrances in Liberty?

. Soon I will be going around smelling like absinthe....
23.gif

I had a tester of DA and really liked it, the absinthe is definitely recognizable and it had lovely tones of cinnamon which I like so I should enjoy that one too - heh!

Darn you- enabler.

So which one are you going to order???

Not sure. I might go have a good sniff next time I''m in London. I can''t choose just from a website! My nose isn''t grown up enough to be able to work out what scents smell like based on descriptions such as "woody notes, musk" etc.

* cough...*

Just to enable a little more, Les Senteurs offer a sample service of any fragrance they stock including the SL, they are about 2 pounds fifty each....

Click on the SL you are interested in and you get a sample option also

I''m another vote for smell net then

Lorelei you really are an enabler - do you know my card reissue STILL Hasn''t arrived. I''m calling the bank today.

Honey Water Sounds Delicious mmmm

Don''t cry Lorelei. I bet it comes today

I''m trying out Chanel 22, 19 and beige this week.

OOOOO Another good one is Chanel Gardenia.... and also Isabey Gardenia... both aren''t QUITE as in your face. Chanel is def. not a gardenia but it is one of the loveliest florals I''ve smelled thus far. Isabey is a bit more gardenia but also has hints of orange blossoms, which I knew I was picking up on and looked up to make sure I was right when I tried it. It''s got other florals too it too and a bit of musk. But it wears so light, that I love it for a summer smell. I''m going to own a bottle, just you watch.

Just realised that I was in their B&M shop when I was in London the other month- its a little shop in Belgravia. They give you a box of coffee beans to sniff between smelling each fragrance, as they say that it cleanses your nasal passages. I was so overwhelmed by it all.
