Ok ladies and gentlemen if you want to join in...

What fragrances are we currently wearing? Has anyone treated themselves to anything new and exciting recently? If so please spill!

I will start.

I have ordered some Serge Lutens Louve which will be here tomorrow - can't wait! Might be an odd choice for summer ( if you can call it that in the UK) but I am really loving powdery almond/ cherry type perfumes at the moment so I couldn't resist as I felt I deserved a wee treat!

This has been purchased unsniffed so fingers crossed I like it....

Diptyque= Philosykos (spelling?). I love the scent but it just doesn''t have enough lasting power on me. I wish it came in an EDP as well as EDT.

That sounds interesting SL, I will have to look into that one. Isn't it a pain when fragrances wear off so quickly? I remember when that wasn't the case and most ' good' perfumes even in EDT would last most of the day. Fie upon these poxy reformulations!!!

I''ll be watching this thread as I am in the market for a new perfume. I tend to like fruity, foody scents whcih I know a lot of people don''t like. (like Hanae Mori for example) Anyone have anything that would fit the bill?

Lorelei - let us know, I love almonds!

I treated myself to a bottle of Estee Lauder Tubereuse Gardenia, which smells like stuffing my face in a gardenia lol. I also am enjoying Versace sig. my sample of Tabac Blond (if my stupid card would just get here already!!!), and I recently got a sample of Chanel Gardenia that I really like!

on my list to acquire:
Tabac blond first and foremost
Bvlgari Jasmin Noir
Thierry Mugler Alien
Chanel Gardenia
a nice big bottle of Versace Sig - right now I have several sample bottles that I got on ebay for a reasonable price.

to try :
quelques Fleurs
lots of chanel
and a ridiculously long list of others

Cind - This is a common one but D&G Light Blue is a great citusy light perfume. I had thought of buying a bottle but I spend a lot of time on the coast, and it tends to go out quickly there, which makes me sad.

You might enjoy the versace sig, I like it when I want to feel a little more bouncy

I haven''t tried as many fruity smells yet, I can''t do too too sweet, it overwhelms me a bit, but those are what came to mind for me.

Have you tried Clinique Happy or Happy Heart? They are quite fruity and long lasting and readily available. What sort of fruity and foody notes do you like?

I love Bulgari Jasmin Noir although have only sampled it, I don''t own it. I kind of wish I''d bought that instead of the 100ml bottle of Diptyque. Oh well.

Have you managed to find Chanel Gardenia? In England its only available on Bond Street in London. I keep meaning to go sniff it while I am about.

Does Alien smell anything like Angel? I refuse to go anywhere near the Thierry Mugler spraying girls in the department stores incase they spritz me with Angel, which I hate, meaning I haven''t smelt Alien.

Oooh, I just bought two fragrances: Josephine for me and Le Vainqueur for the BF. They are both by Rance. The reason I had to get both is that they are connected by a wonderful romantic story.

Rance is a very old fragrance house and was the perfumer for Napoleon. As he created his empire he charged Rance with crafting a fragrance that would be inspired by the signature plants/scents of each of the places that he conquered (I know, i know SO imperialistic, and I should reject any perfume that encourages such thinking, but i can''t help it...) The fragrance was also to be the "essence of masculinity". At the same time Rance was to craft a fragrance for Josephine which was to be the essence of femininity. When the two fragrances came together they should react in such a way that a third fragrance was created...not by happenstance, but a 3rd designed fragrance.

I think it was last year, but it might have been as far back as 2006, Rance cracked a couple of old barrels of the perfumes that the original Rance made. Le Vainqueur and Josephine were among them, and they were analyzed for their chemical constituents. Rance is now making the fragrances again.

Josephine is floral, sweet and feminine---takes it right to the edge of where I usually say "eeew" but turns away from sicking sweetness with something underneath that is spicy. It flirts with an edge but doesn''t cross it, which makes it sympathetic to a good hot summer to me.

Le Vainqueur is masculine but not overly citrusy or musky (the essence of manhood was different in the 18th c, I think :) In all honesty, it''s probably better as a fall fragrance, but still nice in the summer.

Cant put my finger on the 3rd fragrance yet...maybe I need to try some other ways of getting the fragrances together?

Hehehe! The meaning of my new perfume's name Louve is she wolf!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

Also, Bulgari Green Tea is a nice citrusy scent. Good for cooling off hot sunny days, and the new one Green Jade (also Bulgari) softens up some of the similar notes of Green Tea with some pistachio and powder...Maybe you would both enjoy that one Lorelei and Cind11

That sounds kinda interesting... I tried a Bulgari one recently, the pretty pink rose one, it was too faint for me but a very nice rose fragrance.

I have a bottle of Rance''s Josephine! I only wear it occassionally as it is quite strong and it is very floral. My mum bought it for me as a present (my name is Josephine)

For summer 2009 I am wearing Gucci Flora. It''s not a super sweet floral fragrance because of the patchouli and sandalwood in it. I usually wear Bond No 9 Nuit de Noho, but I wanted something lighter this summer.

Topo - I am hoping that our Chanel Boutique in Orlando will have it but if not I''ll order it offline or ask for it to be ordered for Christmas.

I have to be honest, I haven''t smelled angel. Alien to me is rather mysterious, and is a more night time fragrance to me, a bit sweet, and a bit sexy to me. I''ll have to compare at Sephora this week and get back to you on the likenesses

I don''t have such expesive taste. Well maybe I do but no pocketbook to back it up.

I just bought United Colors of Benetton Essence of Woman fragrance from Kohls. I really like it. I think it''s new and may be only available at Kohl''s for the time being.

i finally found a new perfume. it''s been 3 years since i''ve found one.

let''s recap.
9.gif
my previous daily wears list included chanel no. 5 + bond no. 9 chelsea flowers.
my new love is Eclat D''Arpege Eau De Perfume by Lanvin. it''s light. airy. and fresh.

I am glad you found a new love Jcrow! I will definitely have to try this one. I used to love the original Arpege but I am too scared to try it now what with all the reformulations, that it will be a shadow of its former glory. But his new one sounds beautiful.

I do love Angel and always keep a bottle by me, I don''t wear it that often as I have to be in the mood for it but when I am I really enjoy it, especially for the chocolate/ caramel notes. These tend to amplify on me nicely rather than the patchouli which I am not fond of.

Akshully, it sounds utterly devine!

Do let me know how it is!

I wear Aeropostale - it''s very citrus-y, like grapefruit. My husband loves it, he says I smell like something to eat.

I am very interested in TopoDazzle''s suggestion though! I''ll have to make note of Josephine and Le Vainqueur to go smell them. TopoDazzle, who carries them?

Oh, and I''m still wearing my signature summer fragrance.

I enjoy that smiley

what is smellnet?

Another vote for Clinique Happy - it''s light and citrusy and gorgeous. It''s prompted three separate men to say, and I quote: "I don''t usually like perfume but I love what you''ve got on"
