Hi Ladies!

I had my second fitting today and it went well. I don''t have pics though (I never think to bring my camera). We''re at the 60 day mark
23.gif
, so I thought I''d check in with everyone.

How are you doing?

If you''re one month out, what do you have left to do?

If you''re at two months out, what''s left on your list?

Three months...same question...

On a good note, my FI survived the latest lay offs, so he''s safe (for now anyway). He''s still keeping his eye open for other opportunities but he''s not scrambling to find something. Phew. I think I can relax a bit. In other news, we''re considering renting out our condo and looking for a house. Why, just before our wedding, are we taking this on? Simple -- we''re crazy.

Ours is June 25. We''re getting married without guests and not real formal but still dressy. Everything is pretty much taken care of by the venue. Its just the last minute things. Hair, jewelry decisions. Right now I''m obsessed with finding the right hair comb and earrings.

This is my second marriage and we are so happy together sometimes it doesn''t seem real. And we''ve been living together for 3 years. I''m a lucky lady. I''m also a teacher so in 7 more days I won''t have to worry about work until after the wedding.

You are looking to buy a house 2 months before the wedding. You are crazy. ;) I can barely handle work and the wedding. I am 1 month out tomorrow. It can''t get here soon enough. I don''t even know what I still need to do because everything is becoming one big scary jumble of stuff in my head. Also, someone broke our bedroom window and trashed and robbed our house on Thursday so I am a little thrown off balance.

I also had my second fitting today and forgot to bring my mom''s camera. Is it normal for them to have to do multiple fittings? I thought I was going to leave with my dress today. Now I won''t get my dress until two weeks before the wedding. I guess I don''t really need it anyway but it just seemed different in my head.

AH! I am so jealous! Where do you live? I am a teacher too but we have 4 more weeks of school.

Are you looking online at all for earrings? I need to find a good site, I have not found a pair I like at any local shops.

We are at the 30 day mark (June 14th)! The only things left are :

last fitting (May 24th)
meet w/ DJ to go over playlist (May 27th)
meet w/ planner to go over day of schedule and set up (May 23rd)
get marriage license (May 23rd)

Basically memorial day weekend is jam packed! hehe......

But we''re ready otherwise! No nerves yet, just excited

Oh dear - I''m a bit behind. Wedding is 26th July.

Still to do:

Order wine from Italy

Have rings made

Dance lessons

Finalise ceremony

Have actual dress made - the main fabric is being woven at the moment and is ready to ship at the end of the week, but they just told me today that the gold fabric never got produced
15.gif
as no one bought any so I have to get a new one - samples being sent over tomorrow. Toile is done so shouldn''t take long once the fabric is sorted.

Make menus/tableplan/table numbers/orders of service

Finish making BM dresses

Finish favours

Marzipan and ice cake

Getting rid of the venue witch has made a HUGE difference, and I should tie up a lot of loose ends there that have been up in the air.

Yikes - so much to do!

At the 2 month mark, I still need to have more fittings, find a ring for myself (see my other thread), finalize the playlist, and lots of little stuff like get the candy and ribbon for our favors, get the rocks for our "guest book," make the programs, buy gifts for the parents, do a seating chart after we get all our responses, etc. But I still feel like we are pretty on track. Invitations went out late last week, and we already have about 20 responses!

Thanks for checking in with us, Zoe!

I am 70 days out today and still feel like I have a lot to do, but I''m feeling a bit better about things. My school isn''t out for another 4 weeks, either, so that''s weighing on my mind, as well.

Finally got the dinner after the ceremony squared away, and I changed the menu a bit and finagled from $65 a head down to $47, so that makes me happy!

Still working on welcome dinner for the night before the wedding, but they have horrible reviews on TripAdvisor. Sadly, they are the only place willing to do a dinner that includes salad, meal and dessert for about $25 a head. I think we may just take our chances and stick with it so that it''s one less thing I have to think about before we get there.

Still working on the jewelry for myself. Also need to find matching earrings for my bridal party that goes with their sterling/cz DBTY necklaces and bracelets.

Need dress to arrive in time to get it fitted if needed...this one I have no control over!

Finalize flowers and harp list.

Make even ONE plan for the wedding reception in August. I AM getting the STD''s out right now (working on them as we speak!) and have set up a "reception" website for people to pre-RSVP, which will help us with numbers as the time gets closer to the actual date.

Still need to make invitations, hire caterer, rent tables, etc...

Find dresses for both showers, the welcome dinner and reception back home.

Still need groomsmen''s gifts, but I am leaving that up to FI.

Also need to put BM tote bags (using them as shower thank you''s) together as well as put all of the OOT bags together and ready to be packed in a suitcase or shipped over beforehand.

Oh yes...most important thing...DO.NOT.LET.MY.MOTHER.GET.TO.ME.ANYMORE. She is going to ruin everything at the rate we''re going, so luckily I have laryngitis again, keeping me from saying anything I might regret later...
15.gif

81 days (2 months, 2 weeks and 6 days) left until our August 2 wedding.

Things we''re doing right now:
- Invites were in the mail on Saturday, which means they went out yesterday and people will be getting them within the week.
- I have a dress fitting and a hair trial on Saturday, and we''ll go pick out the tablecloths and napkins.
- We''re trying to put our ceremony together. We finally got a call from the church for our meeting with the priest 4 weeks before the wedding (3 weeks before the rehearsal). It''s a leettle short to my taste, but looks like FI and I will need the time to agree on what we want anyway... *sigh*
- Mom and I are trying to figure out the hair and make-up schedule for us 4 ladies on the morning of. For some obscure reason, almost every hair dresser around seems to be on vacation on that day and we''re on a veeery tight schedule, so it''s a nightmare.
14.gif

- I''m picking the music for the ceremony.

Things left to do:
- I have to buy the ribbon I need asap so I can give back the colour swatches to FI''s mom, because of course she hasn''t bought her dress yet (I''m thinking about dropping the ribbon thing altogether though).
20.gif

- Buy unity candle.
- Make hair and make-up appointments (and get a hair cut).
- Confirm everything and give head counts.
- Call the CBCA for donation favours.
- Figure out a plan B fior the rehearsal dinner because it turns out my mom has to do chemotherapy (
39.gif
) and I don''t want her to host the dinner at home.
- Get a pen for the guestbook.
- Get rings engraved.
- Do seating chart (I decided to drop the menus and programs).
- Convince FI that we can''t just invite new people after we get "No"s.
32.gif

- And I''m probably forgetting something. I always forget something.

On one hand, it looks like I don''t have much left to do and I''ll have plenty of time to do everything, but on the other hand, I''ll be working a crazy schedule and I''ll only be able to work on wedding stuff every other weekend, so that''s not a lot of weekends (...6, eeep!
6.gif
). Plus with my mom starting chemo on Friday I''ve lost my main helper, which is why I dropped the DIY menu and program projects, and I''m thinking about dropping the ribbon thingies.

FI''s getting nervous and he''s as clueless as ever, so that''s driving me up the wall...

Hi Lauren,

You were robbed! Oh no -- are you okay?

We''re not actually planning on having the house situation in full swing by then, but we have begun doing drive-bys (sp?) and we''ve met with our realtor and mortgage specialist. We''re looking right now, that''s all. Well, we may have a plan put in place to rent after the honeymoon, but we''re not moving soon or anything.

Re: multiple fittings -- yes, it''s normal. I''ve had two so far and my last one is in the beginning of June (over a month away from our wedding). I wish it was later than that but if it has to be done and ready for me to pick up by then, so be it.

Hi date twin! So, we actually have to go over every single song the DJ wants to play? Ugh. I don''t want to.

I started the programs but then I forgot about them. I have ours pretty much done but they need to be printed. I think we''re going to bring them to Kinko''s to get printed. That will take no time but it''s just doing it, you know?

We bought gifts for our parents. Well, I got my parents a gift (a dinner cruise) and my FI has to take care of his parents'' gift.

We''ve started getting replies back, and I love checking them off or crossing them out on our list. It feels so good to know who will be there. It makes the whole thing more real.

It sounds like things are in full swing for everyone. So Harleigh, you''re essentially planning two receptions? Wow! A friend of mine did that and it was a lot of work. It was so much fun but definitely a lot of work.

I am so afraid that we''ll forget about the marriage license. We need to do that. I think I''ll go check the Knot to see where they say I should be. I''ve found their checklist pretty helpful. I kow others haven''t but it''s kept me on track.

I typed this next part out for my own sake but feel free to stop reading if your eyes glaze over.

-- gift for FI''s parents (if he doesn''t do it)
-- pick up wrap when it arrives (they ordered one in the wrong color)
-- do my hair and makeup trial at the end of May (do you bring your veil?)
-- get a dance floor for my parents'' harpist friend to set her harp on and confirm delivery and set up
-- seating chart once all replies are in (they''re due by June 15th)
-- attend showers (2) and give hostess'' flowers (send to them afterward or for the day of??)
-- GET MARRIAGE LICENSE
-- find someone to take care of the cats (neighbor or kennel)
-- put together welcome bags
-- maybe send out info packet ahead of time (I''m not sure if I really want to do this. We''re not planning anyone''s vacation; we''re planning a wedding. I say that because people keep reminding me of that. I feel like the event planner for the weekend on the coast for our guests. Stop doing that!)
-- confirm and pick up tuxes
-- send out invitations for the rehersal dinner, including menu choices (check to see if we need to make up a menu ahead of time for guests to see)
-- clean the house before we leave
-- pay bills due around the time we''re gone
-- stop the mail from being delivered while we''re gone
-- Make sure FI''s car is good to go for our road trip honeymoon
-- E-mail the readings to the people reading during the ceremony
-- Meet with the photographer at the end of June
-- Meet with the DJ to finalize things

I''m totally fine. It''s just stuff so I don''t really care about that. The biggest problem with the robbery is lack of sleep from not feeling safe. (well, that and that it is 29 days until my wedding and I have so much to do without police reports, insurance adjustors, window repair and alarm system instalation!) Stupid criminals

I LOVE LOVE LOVE house hunting. The buying part is stressful but the hunting is so much for to me. I have only bought one house in my life but I remember going from place to place and falling in love with my house when I walked in. It is a 100 year old victorian with 12 foot ceiling, wood floors in every single square inch, fire places, and huge windows everywhere. I am living in my FI''s boring cookie cutter condo but my house is 400 miles away so the 5 hour comute to work just didn''t fly with him. ;)

I''m glad you wrote your list. I totally forgot to get someone to feed our cats while we are on our honeymoon!

Um, yeah...it actually feels like I''m planning 3 receptions since I am also in charge of planning the welcome dinner the night before the wedding, the dinner reception immediately following the ceremony, and THEN the ginormous reception for everyone else in August. It''s been a challenge, and I''m not even sure I care anymore how they all turn out! I figure if there''s food on the dang table and drink nearby, that''s good enough for me!

Uh-oh...that sounded pretty negative...I''m sick again with a bad cold, so just not feeling the wedding vibe this week! My allergies are also acting up and I woke up with my usual monthly migraine today, so I.just.don''t.care!!! Aaaghhhhh!

I''m sure I''ll be back on the wedding train next week!

I'm so behind I'm embarrassed to even tell you how much we have left to do!

I have my first fitting tonight, though, so I'm very excited about that.

We're closing on our new house May 30th, I'm chaperoning a student trip to Greece from June 5th to the 17th, we're getting married July 4th, and honeymooning in St. John from July 7th to the 17th. AHHHHHHH! Too much to do in too little time! And school starts back up again on August 11th, so I'll have to start planning the minute we get back from the honeymoon. OY!
