Aloha all ~ :wavey:

I acquired this ring at an estate auction. Im not pleased with the setting that it sits in. The color has been graded as a Q, originally I thought it to be a K. In the current mount the color looks obvious because of the contrast on the sides. Would you be willing to share some thoughts and ideas for a new setting? I do not mind playing up or down the stone color.

Here are the center specifications:

Center Diamond Weight: 2.5 cts.
Diamond Grading Report Shape and Cut: Round Brilliant
Measurements: (approximate): 8.58 x 8.51 x 5.41 mm
Proportions: Very Good
Depth: 63.31%
Table: 59.7%
Girdle: Slightly thick-thick
Culet: Closed
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Clarity: SI-2
Color: Q
Fluorescence: Faint blue (lw)

Well if you dont want it to be compared to side stones then would you be willing to go with a plain setting without any melee? or do you want to have one made with matching color melee?
How do you feel about yellow or rose gold ??

Take a look at some of the other lower colored stones on this site

also, whats your budget for your setting??

YUMMY stone!! :lickout:  :lickout: My new OEC is also a Q/R and I too, really love the warmth of it! I set mine so that it would enhance the contrast of tinted centre stone/whiter melee.

What would you LIKE to end up with? are you interested in a 3 stone? a halo? an antique/repro setting?? Coloured gold? Ah - the possibilities are endless  I had a really hard time finally deciding on which setting I wanted - I hope your journey is less of struggle for you!

A Q, huh?

What is your style (contemporary, solitaire, three stone, pave, vintage...) and what is your budget. And what is your metal preference.

After a long time to decide I picked this up at my jeweler today in Hawaii.
Completely new reset and design.
I was inspired after looking at a setting on the wedding bee boards.
