Hey guys.
I just registered but have been reading threads for, literally, an hour plus a day. I have a favor to ask, but also thought that y''all might get a kick out of this. I want you guys to suggest a ring (or stone if that makes life easier) for me to get my girlfriend with these (limited) criteria:
Needs to be squared-ish in shape (radiant, cushion, or princess). She likes those cuts.
Her major interest is in cut/fire/brilliance.
The kicker...I need it to be under $3300.

The rest is in your hands. I have talked with a few Atlanta diamond places (not retail stores but specialty shops) but I am just curious to see what folks here bring to the table.

Go wild.

Thanks and God bless,
Ryan

Hi D.FIVE,

I’ll play! (Not an expert at all)

Stone:
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6249/ $3211 (bank wire price)
Have Jon make a video of the stone for you so you can see it in action! (Lifetime upgrade policy is nice)
It’s on the warmer side (1.0ct L VS2). Chunky cushions have quite a unique look to them.

Simple setting:
http://shop.goodoldgold.com/index.cfm/a/catalog.prodshow/vid/47013/catid/168 $300 (14k white gold)
(Or a temporary setting is available for $175)

OK, stone + setting is a little over at $3511 (but worth it for the chunky cushion).
Maybe just the stone?

I can''t wait to see what others come up with!

Cheers,
HD

Hi DistrktFIVE,
When we were looking for our diamond, cushions seemed to be very well priced. If you decide to go this route, I would really recommend Mark Turnowski of engagement rings direct. He was very helpful and may be able to help you find stones in your price range :)

Good luck! I am very excited for you

Hi Ryan

Just wanted to mention Union Diamond is in Atlanta, I don''t know if they see clients by appointment but no harm in asking if you wished.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far. I am actually going to Union Diamond on Friday to see what they have there too.
