I asked for an opinion on a few diamonds the other day, and I think it was the wrong question for me to start off with, since it assumes I''m experienced enough to short-list the right diamonds, which I''m not.
So maybe it would be better to start off asking for suggestions of what to look for. I''d love to buy my GF a 10k diamond, but she is far more practical than I am and does not want anything near that expensive because "the money could be better spent on our student loans or mortgage".
So $3k is the budget we settled on, and we''ve found a matching setting/wedding band for around $1100 (not bought yet, but she''s in love with it so it''s pretty much going to be that set), leaving just shy of $2k for the diamond.
The only thing she absolutely cares about is that it is a Princess, and after learning about the importance of Cut, I''d like it to be the best possible, so we''re happy to hear suggestions on where to aim for Clarity, Carat, and Colour to get the most bang for our buck.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
