Stung by a bee…

There I was out on the deck minding my own business , wearing a beautiful yellow and orange headband. I was reading when I was stuck on my left side by what I thought was a pin. Right on the top of my ear! I reached up to feel it and heard a buzz . Now the bee was stuck in my curls. As I did the booty dance screaming on the deck like a mad woman I realized I had been stung by said bee and was in awful pain. Bee escaped probably screaming at me for interrupting his look at the lovely headband.
Anyways….I haven’t been stung in 30 years. My ear is quite swollen and the pain is unbearable. SuzyQ put baking soda paste on to reduce the swelling, she tried to find a stinger but there does not appear to be one. I’ve had my limit of pain meds and have lidocaine gel on it but I still feel like my ear has been pierced with a sword.
Any recommendations?70763F85-4127-4225-BC47-BEB1B8BC3BC9.jpeg

Oh no! This looks painful!
I have no suggestions.....maybe Motrin for the pain?

I got stung in the side of my head last year just out taking a walk. Just ice and time is what helped.

Definitely take an anti-histamine. That’s about how it happened last time I was stung over 10 years ago—silly bee got stuck in my hair and my hand connected with it causing it to sting me. Hurt like hell!

Might have been a wasp? Did you see it? Wasps are @$$holes at this time of year.

Same suggestion! Ice and Benadryl.

ouch
after only being stung once when i was six ive been stung 3 times in as many years
ouch
if its a bee you gotta get the sting put
i have been stung by a wasp too - lucky the wasp died on impact (out driving in jeep with top down)
that hurt a lot- and for ages
real burning pain

the bees hurt too so i totally get it

i hope by now you are feeling better
i think frozen peas work good to ice the pain

Well that wasn't very nice of him! I hope you find some relief soon!!

Well, it hurt like hell all afternoon and evening. I did the Benadryl and ice. I’m inclined to think it was a hornet. We could not find a stinger. The next day was a little pain and a lot of itch. Today it just itches like crazy!

hope the itch is gone my now

It’s a bad week. Now I have Covid.

Oh no! Hope you are completely healed soon.

So sorry @AprilBaby. Rough week. Hope it gets better.

You got stung by a wasp, not a bee. Bees die after they sting, it would not have been able to fly away.

Sorry about the covid. My entire family is recovering from it. I'm still unreasonably tired.
