stud earrings for 6.5K budget

Hi, I need your opinion for me making purchase of the stud earrings. Currently I am wearing e vvs 1.5 carat centre with .30 each for side stones for my engagement ring. My DH gives a go ahead on a pair of the stud earrings. I don''t know what to get.
I went to local B&M and tried on a few .70 each side ( total 1.4 carat) within my budget ( give us nice color& cut e vs). ButI think .7 is a bit too small. I would like to get 1 carat each for each ear, but I have to sacrify color & claity.


Would it look funy to wear say J color & si clarity of 1 carat each on each ear and wearing engagemtn ring e color?

not unless you are going to be holding your hand up to your ears and asking everyone if they notice any difference.

I agree. However, I would suggest if you go J, get exceptional cut. They will face up whiter than so so cut J's, which may indeed show some color.

Absolutely not, it will look fine and no one will be any the wiser!

I have J SI1 diamond studs, GIA excellent cut (HCA 1.4). Whenever I take them in to be professionally cleaned, most jewelers guess that they are G color. I think partly it is because it''s hard to tell once they are set, and partly because they don''t take into account the ideal cut.

J SI1 for diamond studs will be great. I wear an 1.5 ct F VS2 diamond ring and there is no visible difference with the earrings. In fact, getting Js for earrings is a really smart move to save $$$.
