Strong Blue Fluorescence in "E" oval cut

I found an affordable oval for my daughter that is in the budget!

Unfortunately it has "strong blue" fluorescence and only "good" polish and symmetry

The vendor says the fluorescence doesn''t cause any cloudiness. I read that having strong f''s can change the appearance of the color. Is this going to have a negative impact on an "E" color?

Vendor claims it''s a nice stone with minimal bowtie. It is such a comfortable price point.Is this worth looking at or should I move on. I think there are better choices but they add at least to 1500 -2000 to the cost.

The fluorescence is going to make this diamond look pretty blue. It will give off a lot of bluish fire. There are people who enjoy a more bluish-colored diamond just as there are people who love warmer-colored stones. It really depends on your taste as far as color goes, but given that an E color diamond is colorless, it will show much more of the blue fluorescent color than a near-colorless diamond would because the E lacks the warmer tones to "balance out" the blue tone.

If the strong blue fluoro E oval doesn''t have the milky haze as stated by the vendor, then you have everything to gain. A small discount is given to strong fluoro stone in DEF diamonds. These used to be very sought after and actually carried a premium. Called blue whites, they give a blue tint (or lavender) under natural sunlight. You''ll love the effect (I hope) under backlights. It''ll also make it easier to verify/determine that it is indeed your diamond.

I wouldn''t mind strong blue in my E color, but no such luck. For me, that wouldn''t rule out a stone at all. Second the pics? That should help a bit to see what the stone looks like..

I don''t know anything about polish and symmetry in ovals, but I would love the strong flluorescence!

I have a right hand ring that has a .78 round strong blue fluor and I Love it.

The fluorescence could be a nice addition to this diamond, you may only notice a bluish glow in some lights. Please do not worry about good for polish and symmetry in fancy shapes, it is said by some experts that you won''t notice a difference between good and above. Unless you want to hold out for higher, don''t write a stone off because of it.

If you can post pics and ASET images, that would be helpful.

I would ask JA for some more pics and as they don't do ASET, see if they can provide some Idealscope images, these are not as helpful for fancy shapes as rounds, but might be of some value. Ask about the visibility of any bow tie/s on these diamonds also. The diamonds look promising and worth further evaluation.
