Please find the attachment. I have looked everywhere and have not seen a facet daigram like this one for a cushion modified brillant. How does GIA determine this cut is a Cushion Modified Brilliant?
I swiped this diagram from an old post here. It's labeled incorrectly here so please ignore that. This is accepted as a standard cushion brilliant. If you 'modify' this facet arrangement, say by adding additional facets around the pavilion or straying from the standard 8 bezel crown faceting style (as in the diagram you posted) you have a cushion 'modified' brilliant.
In your opinion does this particular cut "always" give the glassy look? If so, what would be the advantages for the diamond to be cut with this pattern? The stone seemed to have beautiful color.
Oh dear, I''m not that knowledgeable like many of the people here, Decker, so I better not say. Somehow I remember that diagram in association with the crushed ice look. Anyone?
Also, what do you all think of the 70 percent table?
Thanks again for the response. I am anxious to hear what other''s think as well. Based on the stone''s GIA report, what do you think would be a fair price or value of this stone?
