i am thinking of asking leon to source the stone as well as commission him to do the setting. any experience or thoughts about this? i am looking at a cushion. thanks so much!

If it were ME, I would contact Mark at ERD. He is cushion King here

I personally would go with Mark at ERD for a cushion then go to Leon for the setting. I think it would work out less expensive too. I''d totally let Leon source side stones for me though.

i have seen particular kinds of cushions, one of them is this at leon''s website:

http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=280

and this from a thread here - further down the thread there is a list of 2 diagrams marked a, b, and c - i am looking for (C)

https://www.pricescope.com/forum/faq1/a-cushion-by-any-other-name-t36001-30.html

i have contacted nice ice and engagement rings direct

anybody know what those cushions are called officially?

They''re called Cushion Modified Brilliants as the picture C you cited says...

Mark at ERD obviously has a source for good cushions, so I wouldn't waste time having anyone else look. He'll find you one. Then I'd let Leon source any other stones for the setting...as others have said. You are going to have a gorgeous ring!!!!

The pricescope thread you found with different cuts of cushions is interesting- did not realize so many different types of looks. Luckily you have this and know exactly what you want (option c) so just send this along to vender so there is no confusion since "modified" brillant seems to be used for more than one look.

i also did not realize until recently that there are so many different types of cushion cuts. and as you said, the same term seems to be used for different looks. i figured, getting that diagrams alongside the pics of how the stones look in real life was a real life saver. so far, this is the only way i can think of how to have a common language to talk to vendors about the cushion i am looking for.

any of you know what kind of cushion leon has on that ring of his which website which i posted above? i am wondering if that is just the light effect or trully a particular cut.

waiting to hear from engagement rings direct. nice ice seems to have a good reputation in pricescope as well.

I don''t. But I would send that link to me vendors if that elongated ovalish shape is what you want.

Ta! Doing that now. I am sure the diagram will help.
