The window appears to be quite small and the rest of the cutting looks decent. I would leave it alone because once set, the window will close or disappear. if you want to verify if the window will go away, put the stone in between 2 fingers on the back of your hand. If all you see is the colour (no dead zones where skin can be seen), you''re all set.

Recuts are not cheap, sometimes they can cost more than the stone itself, so that''s also something to consider for anyone considering recutting a stone. I know that one cutter charges $150/hr, and I think that''s the typical going rate.

Have you put it on the back of your hand, between 2 fingers? That will simulate the stone already set in a setting which minimizes the window. LD did this Houdini trick with one of the gemstones that has a window the size of a door and it works.![]()
