I don’t think I ever “bragged” and if it came off that way it was not my intention. I had just gotten a job and worked for a month before we were shutdown. Then was promised I could work from home so I didn’t file for unemployment until July, when it became clear that they weren’t going to come through.
Yes, I applied for benefits because at that point I qualified since I was considered high risk and because I knew that the kids would not be going back to school in person in August so I couldn’t go back to work.
@YadaYadaYada - and NEVER be ashamed for taking what you're entitled to take. Like many others, I am most certain that you paid into this "unemployment" via you or your husbands deductions when employed. I applaud you for taking care of your family in a very upstanding way. Never feel guilty and you certainly never "bragged" about anything. You are an upstanding, quality mother. My hat goes off to you. God bless.
