@YadaYadaYada - and NEVER be ashamed for taking what you're entitled to take. Like many others, I am most certain that you paid into this "unemployment" via you or your husbands deductions when employed. I applaud you for taking care of your family in a very upstanding way. Never feel guilty and you certainly never "bragged" about anything. You are an upstanding, quality mother. My hat goes off to you. God bless.

If someone wants to call me out then I just like for them to have all the facts. Granted I didn’t have to explain myself but I don’t have anything to hide. It’s also true that we have paid into unemployment for over 20 years.

Let’s just be clear though that I will not be spoken to like that on an online forum. That will never happen, and that is why I addressed it.

@YadaYadaYada, I just want to offer my support, that post was cruel and untrue. You are the furthest thing from a braggart there could possibly be. I have no idea what that poster is even talking about. As the saying goes...consider the source.

Good grief... whatevertheheck *that* post was all about, it sure doesn't speak to the person @YadaYadaYada has shown herself to be here.

Yada I always find your posts to be a breath of fresh air. You strike me as down to earth and a solid, wonderful person to your core. Your commitment to your family and kids is palpable, and of the highest quality. You know this, you certainly don't need my validation, but I was just too dumbfounded by that post to say nothing.
 
Thank you @rainydaze that means a lot. I really appreciate all the PS’ers who have shown support here.

I share a lot because there may be folks out there who have a similar lifestyle who also love jewelry. They should feel welcome to contribute too, there is room for everyone.
 
Where im from its very bad manners to ask someone how much money they make

Everyone is usually so nice and polite, freindly and respectfully to each other around here,

In the present gloabal financial climate no one should have to justify themselves to any one else over any eligibility for any kind of govt financial assistance - that's the job of govt pencils pushers and a lot of deserving people are having to jump though hoops right now

There are people everywhere doing it really tough right now and
the economy needs the boost




Now how about showing us some bling .....

I honestly am glad that people who most need help are getting it. And if some people who don't need it get it, I'm fine with that too. Hopefully it will pour some money back into a suffering economy.

I'm not looking forward to the astronomical inflation to come, but that die was cast years ago with ridiculous corporate tax cuts so we might as well see some individuals and families benefit.

I find some of the comments about cost of living interesting. Yes, of course it's easy to live on a shoestring budget if you don't have to pay for housing (the single largest item in many budgets). And I can truly attest to the idea that once you have a little extra cash around, it's much much easier to start living on a budget. For example, I can wait for a sale and a rebate on diapers and buy 200+ at a time for way cheaper per unit than if I buy a pack at a time. But if all I have between today and Friday payday is $25, then I have to balance buying as many diapers as I need but spending as little as possible. So on a budget each diaper costs me as little as $0.25 but in smaller packs they can be greater than $0.40.

I thought about that when everyone was talking about toilet paper a year ago and learnkng3 abiut Costco
Plus one needs the storage space to store all these bulk savings
From what ive seen walking down the baby isle at the supermarket packs of nappies are not small
 
I paid taxes and bought some underwear and some shirts I found on sale.
My wifey told me my salvation army sourced shirts are getting too thin and it bugs her they are see thru in areas.
Me I would wear them another 5 years.
4 Shirts at $7.50 a shirt is not to bad.
Hope they last longer than the 8-9 years these did because they cost twice as much.

Lol. My mom said the same thing to my Dad. Some of his clothes actually had holes in them, and he was still wearing them out and about.

From frequently perusing the thrift stores in the past for clothes, I noticed something - collectively on the whole, there was little mens' clothing, and much of the clothing they had was well worn. Conclusion: that's because men wear their clothing until it's almost worn off them before they get rid of it!
 
This is so true about men and their clothes. Years ago a relative told me that when she buys new socks and underwear for her husband she has to go through his dresser and throw away the old ones. Otherwise he won’t use the new ones and just saves them even though the old ones are falling apart!

lol I have been accused of doing that and my wifey will toss the old ones when they go down for laundry.

Me too! I do a bi-yearly purge. He grouses every time. We've been together twelve years, you'd think he might have learnt to preempt it :lol:

Last time he bought like 30 pairs on Amazon in bulk so it’s taking a lot longer for them to fall apart this time :lol:
 
Mine buys shirts and never wears them
but the undie situation is sad
he has this one blue pair i call his netball shirt because its so baggy it looks like a tiny little skirt
he did actually throw those out this morning :appl: :appl: :appl:
i did say lets go on line and you can get new ones ....but he says he needs to see them first :wall:
