Thanks everyone for your help. I really want to buy the ring asap. We have been going to jewelry stores and now she knows what she wants.

My girlfriend would like a similar style **edited by moderator. please upload photos to forum directly**
Would like at least .97 k +

Any suggestions? Hard on a 5k-6k budget? I would like to buy from james allen or blue nile

What do think about this stone? A local jeweler has it for around $4700

SI2 can be tricky for an engagement ring. Many would suggest not lower than SI1 since it's a ring that will be seen every single day (more time to scrutinize). I'm assuming since it's a local jeweler that you've seen the stone (or can)? Make very sure that it is eye clean. Also, the cut is just "very good". Many would prefer higher, as the cut is really going to be the most important factor. A well-cut stone will look brighter and bigger than one that is not as well-cut.

Is there a particular reason why you are restricting your search to those two vendors?

I was hoping to have it by 4th of July and thought the venders have a fast turn around. I'm open to others. Any suggestions?
In a halo on a 4.5 finger Would a .80 and 1k look very much different?
I showed her http://www.jamesallen.com/engagemen...and-shank-diamond-engagement-ring-17305w.html
But she wants the ring bands to be wider.

The ring you showed us that she likes had a milgrain halo and shank. I would recommend a Gabriel and Co setting and I'll show you some settings in a minute. I would call ID Jewelry first thing on Monday, tell them that you are a PriceScope member and need a ring asap. They will find you a diamond within your budget. Realistically you'll be looking at no more than a .9 I SI1 like farmergal linked unless you go lower in color and clarity, which I would not for an e-ring.

If they can't get you a Gabriel setting by your deadline, then maybe they have something in stock. This is a big, important purchase, and I hate seeing you settle for less than you could otherwise get if you were not rushing to get one.

Does she want a round? You can get a lot more for your budget if you get a nice oval or pear.

Ring we looked at with diamand above [**edited by moderator. please read our policies regarding photo links**

If I can't get it before the 4th I'd rather wait and get what she really wants.

Yes she wants round

Thanks for the recommendations! We are going to ID Jewelry tomorrow.
