It has been years since I posted regularly. I used to post under redrose229 but changed it to Vintagelover229 after a few years and posted I want to say for almost a decade. PS was with me though engagement and divorce and another engagement and marriage and leaving my country and immigration to canada. I have been in the GTA for over a decade now. 4 kids, been married 11 years coming in Dec. already. Been dealing with house renovations (not small ones either think repitching the roof and a total gut job the entire time we’ve been here). Had 4 miscarriages this past year, including a still birth. Found a small tribe of women that I don’t spend enough time with but finally feel like I am more myself than I ever have been. Still have lots of mental and emotional struggles, as being adopted from foster care and healing from serious CPTSD and attachment trauma is no joke!
I am still loving jewelery, though sold most of my diamonds. Mostly a gold lover now or crystals or things I bead and craft myself. Still dying and trading (still love to trade my hand dyed yarn and handwoven items for all sorts of things), as well as dabbling in painting(thank you art Sherpa on YouTube) and anything else that suits my fancy. Learning emotional regulation as an adult is no walk in the park man, its been a rough go but the safe and sound music listening Procol was life changing (if you have kids on the spectrum or SPD or adhd or anything like that it stimulate the vagus nerve and helps with the nervous system basically in a very simplified summary).
hubs has been dealing w severe alopecia causing him to lose most if not all of his hair at various points-and even lost his 16 yr career due to the mandates that hit canada in the last couple of years. I have missed PS but a lot of fear surrounded the new applications and connections w the pintrest apps and other things and it made me nervous to continue to post and share.
I recently acquired a stunning woven basket necklace and bracelet set that I had a costume version since before I was even in foster care-and was thrilled to actually get a version in 14k gold before everything went down w hubs position.
I honestly don’t get out much but have started doing shows which has been really a neat part of my life to expand into. Any of you travelling artists or crafts people?
My entire life I never envisioned myself as an artist bc I never felt what I created was worthy-but PS and the versatility as well as the kindness of so many ‘strangers’ over the years (one in particular was also a wonderful textile artist who is also a trade member but idk if she posts here anymore) and it really encouraged me to not give up and just continue forward no matter what things looked like. Creating has saved my sanity and helped me discover more about myself that I never realized was there.
I am hoping to reconnect w a few of the members who were around back in the day-not sure if any of you still are around or even if you remember me but if so-hello! Figured I would post an update on me and my life and see how everyone is doing!
