BF and I spent the day with his parents, I know part of the reason was so he could get his grandmother's diamond from his mom. Me and his mom were left alone together for a few hours and I was helping her on her computer and saw BF had been sending her pics of e=ring settings.

She asked me what I knew and I told her but that both of us wanted as much as possible to be a surprise. She told me BF is waiting for a few things to come into line first but that it would be soon. She said she thought a Thanksgiving wedding would be possible, this year!!!

I'm excited but trying not to be over the top. She told me that although she likes me a lot, she did ask BF is he was sure about three times over the last month or so and that she's never seen him happier. The entire time we were there she kept referring to joining their family and when she gave me a camera she had won in a contest she told me it was an early engagement present :)

So I'm guessing once the diamond is set he will do it fairly soon after, I don't think I'll have a clue when that is though. He's so good about being sneaky.

Oh, and I ordered my dress yesterday. Posted a pic in the Bridesworld board.

Sounds like you had a great day! Can''t wait to see pics once it''s official.

Well, sadness that it didn''t happen this weekend, but lots and lots of

~~~DUST!!!~~~DUST!!!~~~DUST!!!~~~
for it to happen soon!!!
Oh yay that sounds very good indeed! You must be so excited!
So you are not engaged yet but purchased your wedding dress already?
and, your getting married sometime around thanksgiving but again, you are not enaged yet?
I am missing something here....got to be,
Just a well-meaning heads-up, but you''re going to drive yourself (and possibly your boyfriend) absolutely BONKERS if you gear yourself up every weekend/special day for "OMG this might be it!!!" and then it turns out isn''t.
In Gwennie''s same gentle, well-meaning spirit: ditto. I understand you are excited dearie, but it''s sooo much more fun (and less stressful) to just relax and let him take care of it in due time.
It''s very encouraging that his mother genuinely likes you and is welcoming you to the family, you are very lucky!
I appreciate your well wishes and concerns. I''m much more calm this evening and I think I can be patient.
And yes, I''m not even engaged yet and I''ve bought my dress and shoes. We will be getting married within about two months of being engaged (definitely before end of year) so BF gave his blessing for me to go ahead and do a few things since dresses tend to take so much time and alterations even longer. Other than these two items there is nothing planned but it will also only have about ten attendants to this wedding so it''s not like I have a whole lot to do :)
I was just like Katomom and so was my friend who was recently married. Even though I knew that the engagement was pending, I was still surprised when my FI proposed. We had a wedding date, my dress, and colors as well as attendants already picked out and decided on before the question was actually popped. We like to be prepared
. As for my friend, she knew that the proposal was emminent as well. Her FI told her that they needed to get ready for their wedding on July 09 and she didn''t believe him. She did buy her dress, and they were registered, but she got worried after a little while since they still weren''t engaged. He finally popped the question and pretty much only gave her 5 months to plan the wedding when he''d been telling her for about a year that they were going to be married 07-09.
Not everyone needs a big diamond ring and an engagement party/ceremony/pictures/shower before they plan their wedding.
Katomm - I''ve read your other post so I know that you and your SO are looking to get married soon. Good luck with everything
Um... London, what was your post suppost to imply?
Are you saying that I needed a big diamond/engagement party/ceremony/wedding to be married? That''s sure what it sounds like. I must be noted as some high falootant rich bitch on this site who is all glitz and glam and huge diamond rings eh?
but all in all I am already happily proposed to and married sporting my huge diamond!
What I wrote was what I felt, I don''t believe I know anyone who buys everything and basically plans the whole wedding without an enagement LESS a ring, but at least a proposal which in Kat''s behalf has not happened. I wish her nothing but happiness as I do for the rest of the LIW and Newlyweds, hell everyone on here.
