Hi, my fiance wants to find the best way to clean her ring at home. I was thinking about getting a jewel jet as some people had recomended that one. But I was wondering, would holding the ring under the steam from a espresso machine be just as effective. I was thinking about buying an espresso machine anyway, and I was wondering if I could kill two birds with one stone. Any thoughts???

Lol! I have no idea about the answer to this question, but it sounds like a great idea!

Hahaha, I like it. Don''t really see how it could hurt. Steam might be a little hotter than normal, but the jewelery should be able to easily withstand it. You just may need to definitely use rubber coated tweezers to hold it against the steam.

Steaming is definitely the most fun way to clean jewelry

I have read somewhere that someone used the milk steamer on their espresso machine for cleaning their jewelry. It worked like a charm for them.

I use my steam cleaner that I use to clean the bathroom and kitchen (Euro Pro). Works great! Since I already had this machine, I didn''t buy a separate jewelry steamer.

I would suggest an ultrasonic machine (a real one, not a cheaper "sonic" cleaner). After the ultra does all the "hard work" of cleaning, then steam to remove the debris loosened in the first step. I work for a diamond dealer, and people are always so pleased when you give their rings a professional cleaning. I think they forget how beautiful their stones look when they are really clean!
