Hey, I was just surfing, and I found this on the Pricescope search engine. Input .80 carats, D color, and VS2 clarity and you will get this

I talked to a nice representative at Abazias and they got some price glitches that happen ever so often. I remember this happening like six months ago and I talked to Jim at Dirt Cheap Diamonds about a price match. Obviously he alerted Oscar, the owner at Abazias, and they had all the prices fixed in a jiffy. Goes to show you that if it seems too good to be true then most likely it probably is. Thought I would share this with you guys and gals so if you surf and find out there is some unimaginable steal out there then it is most 99.9% likely that it is a mistake. I thought I won the lotto there for a second, but then I woke up.

Darn! So much for my new 0.8ct D VS2 pendant!

Thats a weird price glitch because that has to be a data entry error. It's not as though they left off a 0 or anything. That stone should be more around $4000 or so..if not a little more, so whoever entered that was REALLY out to lunch!

Do you really think a D / VS2 0.80ct should be closer to $4,000? I think that's a bit expensive.

Yeah those steal of a deals are always love at first sight. I joked with the customer representative if I could purchase the whole lot that was discounted. We laughed at it, but I was secretly wishing for major bling bling accessories like earrings, pendent, bracelet, an engagement ring, etc. It was nice to think about how much I could get, but then I woke up once again to the real world. I guess not all Pricescope vendors are that competitive that they don't look out for one another. If I remember correctly this has happened once before and I notified Jim who notified Oscar and all the prices were fixed like the next day. I called before about the too good to be true steal of a deal diamonds before. I guess Abazias isn't growing those diamonds out of their backyard. Geez, I wish diamonds were a lot cheaper. They are beautiful little things, aren't they? Anyways, I thought this information would give some amusement to some. It brought a smile to my face and even though it was a temporary smile, it was a smile nonetheless. I hope it brings a smile to all of you. Have a great day!

Well there are .80c E VS2's showing for around $3300...so a D VS2 at around $4k doesn't sound so insane.
2.gif
Possibly they meant to type 3888.

There was another post earlier today about a price disparity at Abazia's. A diamond was showing on PS for around $6K. When the PS Member called, the real price was a bit over $10K.

Abazia's has some sort of problem, but at least they are aware so they can fix it.

Yeah, and the winner is Mara! Gosh you never told me what you do for a living? All this time to type information Mara...are you like the song "Secret Agent Man?" Yes, Abazias said I could have the diamond if I coughed up some major dough like $4,000 worth. Unfortunately, out of a job and with unemployment pay ending last summer, I didn't think it was wise for me to be spending my hubby's money like drinking water. Maybe I will change. I don't know. It would be great if some diamond vendor wanted to sponsor our engagement and wedding rings. Ahem, but then I guess that doesn't really happen that often nowadays. I could advertise at my second ceremony, but I don't think it is going to happen. Eightstar and Tiffany already said no. No suprise there. The Royal Asscher company didn't even reply so I am admiring all your rings from afar. Keep sharing your eye candy with me. Such beautiful beautiful bling... Any vendors want to use me as their ring model?

I believe Mara may not be at liberty to disclose her current position. She is bound by laws of "I could tell you,, but then I'd have to kill you..."

Marketing by day...diamond dealer by night....

Holy crap I want that one!!
2.gif

Nevermind that it's blatantly wrong!! hehee.

Jaded...I work in internet marketing, nothing related to diamonds or the industry unfortunately. Since I do internet marketing, I am at my desk most of the day, except when I have god-forsaken meetings, so I have lots of time to play on Pscope in between setting up campaigns and the like.

Nic...NO that's LawBond whose position is shrouded in secrecy...but we WILL find out and then unmask him! MWAHHA.

Oohh! Ooohhh! Oooohhhh! Pick me, pick me! Pqcollectibles, you found the real winner! What was I thinking D, .80, VS2 when I could have had the mother of all mothers sitting on my dainty size 5 finger. I remember a coworker of mine had something over three carats for her engagement ring. She used to joke that her husband could have put down a hefty, hefty, hefty (notice I typed hefty 3X) down payment on another house in Silicon Valley. She also told me that people sometimes would think it was fake since it was so big. Then she said her husband didn't mind keeping her busy staring at her own finger since he was busy most of the time. Her husband was/is a surgeon. It was nice to know that they weren't starving to cough up that dough for that giant rock. Yeah, sweet dreams of diamonds. Show me the winners. I wonder if Abazias is scrambling at this moment to fix these prices. This is at least the second time that I have called them over several months on a possible purchase if the price is as stated. Unfortunately not, but I got a good laugh out of it. Nice to know that they have a good sense of humour as well.

Hey if they have a Buy button....click it.

And if they don't have a disclaimer on their site (as 99.9% of sites do) saying that they are not required to honor a price if it was an obvious mistake (e.g. obvious being $1k when a comparable price is $3k)...then you may have a leg to stand on. A slight, scrawny, bowed leg...but still a leg.

Show me the "Buy It Now" button like they have on eBay. I would be clicking so fast that my credit card company would have to call and verify. "Hello Jaded Gem, but we notice that you haven't spent more than $100 per month on misc. items, gas, and groceries. Now you have clicked on a purchase close to $9,000. Is that correct?" And I would answer "Why, yes it is. I am looking at buying some diamonds. Major diamonds today. Can you please up my credit limit? If not, I would like to apply for the super duper titanium credit line. Please don't be surprised to see more than a one diamond purchase transaction for today. My golly, some poor diamond vendor seems to be having a distress sale of some sort or just discovered a diamond mine of their own. I could not resist on helping this poor little company out." Aaahhh, don't we all wish that was the scenario. Could you imagine the floodgates of "Show me your diamond" thread exploding?

Who needs electricity and running water this year?!!!

Abazias is seriously on a roll here...

Yep, you are right Choo Choo, you beat us all. You got the best deal or diamond for the buck.
appl.gif
Gosh, I wonder how many phone calls Abazias had to field today and say, "I'm sorry, but that is a missprint with the price." I guess they are good sports so far. I have not gotten a grain of irritation yet, but then again I've only called them twice on it or once each time I have spotted such a big price discrepancy. It is amusing, and I'm sure we all wonder what we could do with the diamond and where we could wear it if prices were this low. Could you imagine changing diamonds as often as you would change socks or underwear? Wouldn't that be funny if one had a different diamond ring, earrings, necklace, bracelet, or broach that they could wear for everyday of the week. Gosh, that would be sheer luxury and I'm sure most people would love to savour that thought or idea. Well, today's prices gave me a few laughs. I find that laughter is still and will always be the cure or pick me up for the many ordinary days.

Oh lord...turn off your website if it's that screwed up, people!!! Customer service costs more than fixing your site..

But hey I'm there for that $780 one.....upgrade!
