Question about the Star/Upper Ratio. Is it better to stick close to a 50:50 ratio?? Is there a limit that should be avoided?? Would a ratio of 60:40 be too much??

I have read the other postings on this and the info on minor facets on the GOG site, but I am still a little confused about it.

Thanks -Cube

In a well-cut diamond the star length becomes all about small character differences, not overall light performance. Diamonds can look beautiful at 50% or 60%.

Here is a thread you may find helpful. The graphics are simulations but show that on a broad scale you''re not losing performance going with stars over that range.

My personal pref is 50%-55% stars when coupled with moderate LGF. As LGF get longer star length a bit longer works for me too.

John,

Thankyou for the link and the info.
