It means the ring is 90% platinum

thanks. is most platinum jewelry 90 or 95% platinum--what is that other number?

Not sure, but it could be the total weight of the diamonds (and the gemstones?).

The weight of my Tiffany Yellow diamond is stamped on the inside of the shank.

The total weight of the diamonds of one of my diamond tennis bracelets is stamped on the clasp.

Yes, ring makers such as Victor Canera and Mark Morrell prefer 90% platinum and 10% iridium. I think all my Beaudry rings are as well. That is a good combination that is relatively hard.
