Stacking bands: Matching diamond color (or not), width?

We used a family heirloom .95 OEC, J, VVS2 to build my Ering (2mm platinum shaft) and sourced 2 20pt I color VVS2 baguettes which we cut into bullets for the side stones. my wedding band is also a family ring and is a 2mm channel set platinum eternity band with G color e-w set baguettes.

I'm interested in getting an anniversary band to stack and am pretty close to deciding on a bezel set baguette and RB alternating band in platinum. I have 3 questions:

1. Do I match diamond color to my wedding band or my Ering? I can see the color difference if I look for it but do not notice it day to day at all, and it doesn't bother me. I plan to wear the new band next to my wband, so new band lowest down, then wband, then Ering.

2. What width band would you choose? 2mm to match other bands or something slightly more delicate?

3. Does anyone know of a source that has a ring like this without milgrain? All of the options I've found have it, and I'd love to see one without to see if I like it more that way.

Thanks!!

I guess if it was me I would try to match the wedding band more closely (within one or two color grades).

I think that matching the band would work, but color seems to be a very personal preference so go with what appeals to you.

Also, try to do some searches here on the type of bands you like. Oftentimes you will find some interesting threads with lots of great info. Plus you can find info on some of the amazing vendors that may have made something similar to what you are looking for. Reach out to them & ask if they can make a band without milgrain, get a quote, etc.

A quick search revealed this link which has some discussion on bands, design, band widths with photos. CVB, IDJ,DK and others have made some really beautiful bands. Hope this is of some help to you. Good luck!

I had a ring like I think you are talking about made by CVB Inspired Design. You can have the ring made with or without milgrain and engraving. You'd have to ask what the color options are in the small french cut baguettes, but I would probably lean towards near colorless rather than D-F if you have a choice. Here is mine with sapphires, and I will include a picture of one she made in all diamonds.

You could always try a plain spacer band in between the two if the color difference is bothering you. I really like your ering!

Thanks so much for all the advice and help!

I love those French cuts - I'd been thinking traditional baguettes to match my wedding band, but those are gorgeous!

I don't think the color difference either way will bother me much and will definitely stay somewhere between G and I.
