My students did a poetry assignment today. We each wrote a "color" poem, based on springtime. I thought these were so cute, I had to share!! Keep in mind that I teach special ed, so some of these poems are a little simple, but they really were working hard!! (I also helped add some descriptive vocabulary...) Enjoy!
K (3rd grade)
Purple-
Purple is the Easter basket full of goodies.
Purple is the pretty flower peeking up from the ground.
Purple is the earring dangling from the girl''s ear.
Purple are the aster eggs I dye with my family.
Purple is the umbrella keeping my head dry.
J (2nd grade)
Red-
Red are the cherries on the tree.
Red is the jellybean I found in my Easter basket.
Red is the beautiful, delicious rose in my mom''s garden.
Red are the big, juicy strawberries in the field.
Red are the ladybugs flying around my backyard.
A (3rd grade)
Pink-
Pink is the spring flower waking up.
Pink is the butterfly.
Pink are the dresses of little girls.
M (3rd grade)
Blue-
Blue is the water after the ice melts.
Blue is the crocus peeking his head.
Blue is the beautiful butterfly emerging from her chrysalis.
Blue is the sky, all sparkly and glittery.
Blue is the Easter suit at church.
R (3rd grade)
Green-
Green is the frog hopping through the woods.
Green is the tree when the leaves open.
Green is the winter coat I don''t need anymore.
D (4th grade)
Green-
Green is the grass when the sun shines.
Green are the new leaves when they are waking up.
D (4th grade)
Gray-
Gray is the rain falling from the sky.
Gray is a foggy morning in spring.
I will have more done tomorrow, but I just thought these were too cute, and they might bring a smile to someone''s lips!
