Spring cleaning?

I'm on holidays from work now, and doing social isolation so spring cleaning!

Hole $hit, what a lot of crap accumulates. Getting rid of a ton of stuff. Anyone else using this time to do this?
It had to wait until I had time off, but once you get started, ya just wanna keep going!

I'm particularly enchanted with my 80's golden oak kitchen cabinets. Those corner ones that are deep and useless? The way they don't go to the ceiling so Olympic -style dust collectors?? Nice.
How about the single cabinet that is mounted that is 12 inches wide? Not sure what one should put in there? I've seen bigger jewellery boxes on PS. Fabulous.

My attention span is tiny right now. I'm literally just going one drawer or one shelf or one anything at a time. Finding resources is fun. Maybe I'll actually find my diamond earrings again this year. I'm mostly organizing.

I haven't done a proper clean in years. I clean, but just a swab and a vacuum. Shiftwork sucks the mojo right outta me. Getting real here. Feels good. I'd love to find some diamond earrings!

We were due to fly to St Lucia on Wednesday, so I’ve been cleaning like a mad thing. I always do a ‘spring’ clean before we go away, so my house is really clean, bedding all washed and ironed, towels all washed and fluffed. Then I had to spend yesterday unpacking and putting everything away

Needless to say, the holiday is off, flight officially cancelled today, and I read online that St Lucia will be in lock down from tomorrow.

Still, it could be worse, we could’ve been there already and not been able to get home.

I washed my hardwood floors. WOT a chore!

Funny you should say that @Begonia, but we were actually going to repaint the whole house this year, so we’ve got all the paint and rollers, so if we have to stay home, we can get on with that. Before that, we’ve got the garden to sort out, so plenty of things to keep us busy during the enforced staycation.

ok so long as no one judges ...
because Gary is a joiner by trade but when he got sick he just lost all energy and im not pushing it especially as everyone that walks through the door comments and the more that happens the more i think it can just ******** stay like this

this is my cheap little kitset pantry we brought as a stop gap till we do the kitchen - i want to keep dishwear in it, so i can bring the casserole baking dishes in from the laundry
Gary wants to hoard his sauces and spices in it
its not helping that sitting in the middle of the floor we only have half a lounge
its become a junk holder (cat lollies in that orange lidded container)

i put the lights up at xmas as a joke
i hope Gary knows where the door, shelves and the rest of it is
so if anyone needs a laugh

the 1970s sideboard we brought as a tv cabinet and is still empty because we still need to push it back 3m to the wall (there are moving boxes back there) never mind i have boxes of glasses needing to be unpacked

i need to find something nicer than a tea towel to sit that planter on
any ideas ?
