I know this has been talked about before but I was wondering if anyone could calculate the spread of my diamond and how it compares to a round brilliant.

The numbers are as follows:
7.38 x 6.55 x 3.99
carat weight 1.61
table=67
depth 60.5

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I don''t have an exact formula, but I think that with the depth of this radiant it will look very similar to a well-cut round of that carat weight, maybe even a tiny bit larger.

Well, the spread of a radiant is the width times the length then subtract 5-10% for the cut corners. So your spread should be around 43.5 mm to 46 mm. I think a 1.6 carat round would have around a 7.5 mm diameter, so it would be 56.25 mm.

Coda - your math is wrong. The spread of a round is calculated as pi r squared. For a 7.5 mm diameter that calculation would be 3.75 x 3.75 x 3.14 =44 sq mm.

A round with a 56.25 sq mm spread would have a diameter of 8.46 and would weigh about 2.25 carats.

That''s right. Forgive me, I had a blond moment, and I''m not even blond. I just forgot the formula for calculating the area of a circle.

Thanks so much for the responses :)
