Finally i think i have the right combo for my perfect e-ring. I''m new on PS and need ideas, advice, and suggestions to make this the perfect e-ring. Havent found the center stone yet, but based on Goodoldgold they seem to be very knowledgable and particular about the cushions they carry and i feel confident they''ll have something that meets or exceeds my expectations. Is this a safe assumption?

Budget: $4k center, and $2k setting for total = $6k
Setting:
Split-shank, floating Halo effect
micropaved diamonds (not sure how exact weight)

Center
Squarish cushion cut from GOG
they have cushions called square Hearts and Arrows that are cut for light performance that looks amazing at a premium price tag
but i prefer cushions that have chunkier flashes, and not traditional watered, crushed-ice effect.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like it''ll be a lovely ring! I adore the chunky faceted cushions - harder to find in square - but I''m sure GOG can do it!

Mark T. at Engagement Rings Direct is also known around here as a good source for cushions.

That is definitely a safe assumption.

Will this be a custom project? Any inspiration pics?

Heres another close up pic.

interesting the pics of the setting i just posted were sent from the Mark T collection. Are they known to be reputable dealers on PS. I havent heard too much from them but i do like their paved halo settings. Should i see if they can outfit the stone as well as the setting?

top view. The Elizabeth, semi mounted, this ring has approx 52 side diamonds weighting 1/2ct tw.. This style ring can accommodate a diamond from 1.00 up to 5.00 ct center stone.

My gf is a size 5.5 and is about 5''2. Whats an appropriate center stone that won''t look too big or small?

Please advise.

Both Mark and Jon are great with cushions. Mark''s rings are very beautiful, I was fortunate enough to see that one in person when I bought my stone from him. You would be safe going with either vendor, they both have excellent reputations and great eyes for cushions!
And I think that ring is gorgeous, you can''t go wrong!
Oh and what you are looking for is a Cushion Brilliant. Good Luck!

Unfortunately the price quoted for this setting from Mark T collection is out of my range, about $3k in platinum. Does anyone know of a reputable designer that can make this for $1-2K. Its a split-shank, halo, with floating center, with 1/2ct tw. Should i go 14k, 18k, or platinum. Is this a matter of preference. the ring should be thin, so do i need a stronger metal in the 14k or platinum?

Which between these do you like better?

which do you prefer?
