Well, I have two concerns:
First, I love my split shank e-ring. It was made by GOG. I have one issue with it that I thought wouldn''t bother me but it kinda does. The spacing between the splits in the shanks on either side of the ring are slighly different. Although most people tell me they don''t even notice, it is totally obvious to me. Is it worth it to get it fixed? The shanks have pave on them and I imagine the whole side would have to be redone. GOG is a few hrs from where I live and it is a pain to get there. My fiance says he doesn''t notice so its up to me if I want to get it altered (and he says he''s not going to go with me). My friend does want to go to GOG so I would have a buddy. What should I do? Do you think GOG would charge for having this alteration done considering I have had the ring for 9 months already?
Second question, I picked out a wedding band from a different jeweler in NJ which has carving all the way around and diamonds that are set in the band (sorry i dont know the lingo to describe correctly). The ring is only made in WG and I wanted Plat so he said he would make a model of it and cast it in plat (he actually didnt do it. he sent it out). I used the ring sizers and everything to make sure the size was right but when it came in a few weeks ago it was totally too big. In my opinion, the jeweler didn''t size the ring he just made a straight copy because I wanted a 6.5 and the one it was cast from was a 6.75. He said he can put beads of platinum on the inside to make it fit better. Has anyone had this done to their ring? Do you like it? Also, if it turns out I don''t like it what can be done to size it since there is carving all around? I just want to know what I''m talking about if I go back there and want it to be resized.
Thanks!!!!
