This one is really funny.
Nothing's wrong, but the boy just wants attention.

My son at two was a master tantrum thrower.
I learned early on to ignore it.
The worst time was when he realized
that he couldn''t go up the down escalator
at J.C.Penneys.

Today he is one of the most laid back people
you would ever want to meet.

You obviously did the right thing by identifying it and ignoring it.
So why do kids throw tantrums?
Is it something about the kid or something about the parenting?
I heard more than one parent say if the parents are pushovers tantrums are the result and you have to establish authority early.

Obviously the right thing for the parent to do is ignore it, when they are sure it is a tantrum, but ...
Are there parents here of more than one child able to identify why one child threw tantrums while the other(s) didn't?
Or do all kids in the same family do it, implicating the parenting?

Are tantrums more likely in first children and less likely in subsequent kids since the parents have more experience, or is it just built into certain children?

When you first posted about tantrums i thought of this video. I''m pretty sure it was on Australia''s Funniest Home Videos a few years ago and they won at least $10 000 for it.
It''s very funny.
